For cheering so loudly even when United were struggling. I have no doubt that the players were inspired by the support they received.

And I heard them through the television set!

They were pretty vocal, when they could have done the all quiet and nervous thing - glad they didn't and Becks made a point of commenting on it, cos I'm sure it does help them keep positive.

Ditto

For once didnt hear the away fans after the kick off and I was in the scoreboard end

Is it just a coinsidence, or is the sudden increase in vocal support due to the fact that the team are needing a lift at the moment, and we are no longer walking away with all the honours? Notice how quiet Highbury is sounding lately? Last nights atmosphere was the best at OT for a long time.

Nah, its cos it was Monday night, evening games get better atmosphere.

We were pretty good last week too.

All this 'team in crisis' lark is bringing out the best in us.

The United crowd was class last night, one of the main reasons why the players didn't give up IMO

Could it have been the fact the match was played on a Monday night and as such there would not have been so many corporate execs enjoying a quiet Saturday/Sunday afternoon out wining and dining? Just a thought.

Gary Neville likes the midweek evening atmososphere's so much that he thinks all the games should be played in the evening.

You weren't at the Boro' game obviously?

interesting;

Teamtalk:
Manchester United chairman Martin Edwards insists the club have no plans to switch their home Premiership games to evening kick-offs.
Defender Gary Neville sparked speculation United could become permanent night owls when he revealed how much the players love evening games at Old Trafford.
"We love playing at night," said Neville. "I don't know why we don't play all our league games at night to be honest.
"It would be a lot better for us. Old Trafford in the dark is fantastic. It is fantastic to play in the evening game atmosphere and just wonderful to be out there."
Over the past two seasons United have taken massive steps to boost the flagging atmosphere of Old Trafford, even encouraging supporters to re-locate to a re-vamped Stretford End.
Sir Alex Ferguson said: "There is no better atmosphere than Old Trafford on a European night.
"The fans love it and the noise always seems far greater than in an afternoon. I don't know whether it has anything to do with people feeling less inhibited to shout and sing because it is darker, or whether being night time it just seems louder."
However, Edwards has revealed a switch to night games in the league is not on the cards even though he concedes the atmosphere is better.
"I have seen some incredibly exciting floodlit games but playing our home Premiership games at night is just not feasible," said the chairman. "It is more difficult for the public to get there at night and people do like the traditional Saturday afternoon games even though they seem few and far between these days.
"They can get to Old Trafford more easily and make plans as to how they will spend the day but certainly for European matches and FA Cup replays floodlit games do create a good atmosphere and there is no doubt about that."

Class wasn't it, not seen Old Trafford on its feet like that in a very very long time

:)

Yeah congrats to every one there, it makes the difference!!!

The atmosphere was fantastic last nite.
What happened to shirt, it was supposed to go round the ground but didn't get past the West Stand.

So true, so true! It was spine tingling stuff and, at one point, the noise was so intense, that even the prawn sarnie brigade in the south stand, among whom I had the misfortune to sit, cottoned on to it and started murmuring :D their support! Quite remarkable and long may it continue!

I don't think it was just the evening kick off, I've been over to a couple of european games and the atmosphere on monday was the better than them...

Brilliant 10-15 mins in first half "Fergusons Red and White Army" breaking into "United" Literally everyone in stretty in unison. Brilliant.

It was a great atmosphere on Monday, I was priviledged to be part of the stretford end. Much better than last week when I was stuck in the south stand and got told off by some woman for standing 1/2 hour before kick-off cos her kids couldnt see becks warm up

yep :o

Surrounded by ST's who all knew each other so didn't have much choice but to sit down. One cheeky bugger even criticised my singing voice when I dared to make a little noise..

They should have been good seats as I was only 6 seats away from the Greeks, but even the huge noise they were making didn't motivate my south stand posse

It isn't just that. Since we lost our title last season, it is also much easier for members to get tickets. Demand is down, as all the day-trippers are going to Highbury now.

That leaves the proper fans in the ground (and the boxes full of prawn-sarny munchers).
