Knife attack in Aschaffenburg

History of mental health issues.

Police confirmed that a 28-year-old man from Afghanistan was arrested following the attack in Bavarian city of Aschaffenburg. German reports suggested he had a history of mental health issues.

Police said they were investigating a motive and the background to the attack remained unclear. The suspect was said to have been staying in accommodation for asylum seekers.

Pretty obvious they would come out with such a statement .
Yes. It is obvious that this would be mentioned, because a history of mental illness might be an indicator for the motive and can often be verified quite easily, by looking into medical files of the suspect.

History of mental health issues means nothing, really. The mental health issues could be anything.

It’s probably fair to say that anybody carrying out a knife attack (or any similar kind of attack of any kind) isn’t going to be mentally stable.

RIP to the victims.

There is a difference with a person that is mentally distress at any given time due to momentarily circumstances an commits this kind of an attack and someone that has mental health sustain circumstances and it had been/is in treatment to this mental health circumstances.

And I think the second is relevant as it raises mental health issues that could be solved with more public investments for the appropriate treatments

I wasn’t suggesting for one moment that it wasn’t relevant.

I didn't want to think I though that. Sorry about that. I was expanding on that is not the same a persona that is mentally distressed and can commit this acts (revenge, anxiety build up for personal reasons, etc...) that a person that have/had mental health issues in historical records

All good, and I understand your point.
