He's only 23 and rated at about 6.5m . Leverkusen are interested, and so should we at that price. Not the pace striker we're looking for, but an excellent addition to complement Ole who turns 30 in Feb.

hadn't really thought about him, but he sure does look good. Are you sure he'd be allowed to leave for 6-7m ? When is his contract up ? If it's true we should look at him by all means, but I doubt it's gonna happen.

He would be a great long term replacement for Ole imo

just read his contract is up in 2005, but a release-clause which comes in to effect in 2003 let's him leave for $10m... not bad imo. It's his 24th birthday on Sunday by the way.

hows that ? He scored 19 goals in the Bundesliga last term and he is still young. He'll get better and better, and four goals already in this world cup will give him plenty of experience.

hey, acording to plannet football his value is $20million? and the way he is playing in the world cup this price may be reasonable, 4 goals in 2 games but be fair a hatrick against saudi isnt really that big of a deal, apparantly Roma are interested

It might rise now that he's on pace to win the golden boot. Leverkusen certainly wouldn't pay 20m for any player.

He will still be for around the same price in 2003 thanks to his release-clause, right? If anyone wants to buy him now it will cost a hell of a lot of money, but it depends whether SAF can wait till 2003 with only three strikers imo (or he could keep Yorke for an extra year, thus possibly lowering his price-tag)

feck the clauses, Lautern won´t get more than 10-12m quid for him AT MOST.

The fees in the Bundesliga are pretty modest. He´s the best German header I´ve seen since Riedle.

He's really good with his head that's what I reckon ... and for us other than a nippy forward, a good header will be absolutely valuable IMO ... you see what Yorkie's head done for us during his first year here ... against Inter at OT remember ?
We are missing that badly nowadays ..

Getting him would be a disaster IMO. No way.

He would add nothing to our game. Hardly a world class forward. Goals in the WC were down to luck or bad defending. Take Duff, who hasnt scored but he terrorised German defence all by himself. Thats what we need when the team is struggling.

We're looking for someone to give us more creativity and more options, not a 2nd rate RVN.

Its been a long time since we had a speedy forward, looking at what Bellamy does for Newcastle, a similar player would destroy continents in our team. Its all about "opportunity cost". Klose or an alternative?

Exactly. We simply can't get all good young players in the world. We need to choose the one who we really need and can really improve our team.

fuk him . he is a german cnut!!!!!
