Kings Of Leon - Their Worst Performance Ever

They could of just not played it if they are that bothered about it being a popular song.

I hate bands who get like that.

Funny as feck that they had the sack to do it though.

Could anyone explain this? I understand that they're playing badly on purpose, I just don't understand why.

It's probably because they are frustrated that many of their fans are representative of the modern microwave music fan - or at least that's how they may perceive it so they're playing the song bad on purpose, almost as if to say "I wonder will these gimps even notice or care how bad we play the song they all love to love".

Ya know.....a good 50% of the audience only going berserk when one of the most played songs of 2008 / 2009 is performed. You can see by his face he's thinking "Ah for the love of God we have more than 1 song!"

They probably miss the old days when things were more pure, and their fans loved the songs that the band also loved playing but hey.....you make your bed you lay in it.

The power of the internet takes another victim!

You just can't believe anything you see or hear these days. Although you're probably right about what he is thinking.

I'm sorry, I've literally just logged into this thread. Do you care to explain what some of us are missing out on ?

I just posted it.

Yeah I've seen that, but DouLou is telling me (and a few others) that things are "Whooshing" over our heads and that the "power of the internet" has taken another victim.

On the side, I just want to point out that the word "Whooosh," it's origin and it's sole purpose / intent is completely and utterly bound to the power of the internet. A little ironic don't you think.

Are you sure you've watched the video I posted?

I watched the start of it where he starts singing in a high voice and looks pretty pissed off having the play "Sex on Fire."

Did I miss something ? I can't play music too loud right now

Basically the video is edited so it looks like they are playing extremely badly, when in reality it was just quite badly. Kinky is spot on with what he is saying though; they were shit and stormed off half way through because the crowd only seemed interested in one song.

Ok now I see :(

Sorry. Jumped to conclusions. It's been a Looooong day, lets just put it that way

The spoof is brilliantly done, though.

It is yeah, i thought it was genuine - like kinky i thought they were exposing how fickle people can be. Although they wrote shite like sex is on fire so it'd have been odd to then get annoyed when the mainstream loved them.

Lol didn't mean to agitate you mate! I was just waiting for the penny to drop!

To clarify. The joke in the thread is that the first video is an edited parody, right?

I've got the admit, if that's so, then it's brilliantly done. It actually seems like they're playing that badly.

I thought it was real.. then I went onto youtube to read the comments and saw it was fake... then I pretended I knew all along.

That video gives KOL too much credit. It'd actually be quite funny if it was genuine.

We saw them in Hyde Park earlier this year and they were soulless and dull. THere were a lot of people there who weren't real hardcore fans of them, if you like, but the reason the crowd only liked one of their songs was because the rest of the songs they played were shit.

I've been to gigs to see bands I've barely known anything about before, and if the music is good you get into it. In fact, the first time I saw KOL this is exactly what happened, they were literally like a completely different band
