Hi all,

I am involved in a new United podcast called Let's Kick It Off.

It's fan-led and we definitely aren't in it for clickbait headlines/clips. We are a group of reds who have been going to games together for 20 years. We enjoy analysing the club both on and off the pitch, and our latest episode goes pretty deep into the current operations of the club.

Would really appreciate a listen (and a rating ) if you fancy it, any feedback would also be very useful. Currently, we're only on Spotify but we plan to branch out into the other major platforms soon. Finally, we know we can improve our audio which we are actively working on.

Thanks in advance!

Me again shamelessly plugging this podcast - I promise I won't do this often but thought this one was worth sharing for insight. We managed to get Kieran Maguire (football finance expert) on and we talked about United's problems, as well as English football in general, if you fancy a listen. Linked below. :)

I really enjoy United podcasts. I'll give it a listen tonight and give my feedback a bit later.

I'm definitely no football or podcast expert or anything so if it's not utterly cack, I'll likely enjoy it haha :)

This guy Maguire, I've listened to him before unfortunately, has a weird knack of being quite self depricating while being hugely arrogant. You could say it was some kind of faux modesty, but his almost extreme lack of knowledge suggests that he's telling the truth when saying he doesn't know how he got the reputation and opportunites he has. This leads me to think that the certainty with which he speaks is used to ensure nobody challenges his assertions as he lacks the ability to dig any deeper.

He manages to hammer United at every turn(not all wrong btw), yet only when directly asked about city's charges does he address them, despite mentioning city previously and heaping praise upon them, and even then the most he can bring himself to say is that they'll struggle to beat some of the charges. He then suggests, in a roundabout way, that their punishment won't amount to much because of the hacking.

His other pearls of wisdom included 'I haven't heard anybody crying about having to sell McTominay or Greenwood' and 'Nobody ever talks about Chelsea's sales'.

Sorry @NextSeason I will check out some of your other podcasts when I get the chance, but this one was a bit of a stinker.

No need to apologise - thanks for listening and for the feedback.

Kieran certainly didn't sit on the fence with his personal opinions in this episode - you don't normally get these type of views in his regular work for BBC/Sky etc as he needs to be more PC on those platforms. I do know what you mean about the self depreciation mixed in with some level of arrogance, although I do think many people also display these traits too...

When he talks about United, he certainly hammers the senior management decision-making as this is essentially a key financial control for all clubs which we have clearly messed up massively in, under both Glazer and Glazer/INEOS control. Perhaps you could argue he should stay out of the football side more, but again it does all link back to the finances!
