Kevin-Prince Boateng | signs for Schalke 04

Wow. Didn't see this coming.

Surprised bigger teams (no disrespect to Schalke) weren't in for him - but he's cup tied for the UCL.

Guess Kaka to Milan?

was quality two years ago, worth twice that.

Replaces the hole that Holtby left. Very good signing for Schalke, Milan must be about to sign someone to fill the void... can't be Kaka surely?

Had a good first season for Milan and wasn't great after that. Think he was punching well above his weight at Milan anyway.

Thought he was pretty good at Milan - scored twice for them in his last game didn't he? Against PSV?

Strange move. Expected "better" (no offence to Schalke, good team though) teams to be in for him.

Don't think he's cup tied as he was only in the qualifiers. Could be wrong though.

Always good in Europe though. Milan doesn't have anyone better.

Maybe they are planning on giving Riccardo Saponara a chance. They bought him and then loaned him straight back to Empoli last season.

Boateng recently stated that Schalke's arch-rivals Borussia Dortmund were his favourite team. Someone asked him about during today's press conference. His reply: ''From today on, this has changed. Schalke is my favourite club now.''

He's taken the number nine jersey, has already trained with the team and could make his debut tomorrow at home to Bayer Leverkusen - kick-off 5:30PM if anyone's interested.

Maybe. But they're still using Muntari frequently. He's not as good as Kevin. Not quite the same position but they were both used as a MC. They've also got Poli.

People maybe have forgotten that he is half German, was born and grew up there. In all likelyhood he wanted to go back.

Great deal for Milan, selling that pile of shit for 12 million is a masterpiece

Can't believe he's gone for so little. He was fantastic in the 11/12 season. Can't help but feel they are cutting their losses and getting a decent fee for him while they still can, before his knees go (perhaps Milan know something Schalke don't) - although he plays a lot, he is a ticking time bomb. He retired for Ghana over 2 years ago due to his knees & the pressure problems he encounters with them during long-haul flights. I can't imagine he'll go very deep into his 30s playing top tier football, I imagine either an early retirement, sitting on the bench a lot, or going to a lower league for a nice payday. That said, he's still a young man at 26 & you never know, his condition may improve. Wish him luck at Schalke, very good player imo.

Klopp: "This morning I sent Boateng a text at 11 am typing "Schalke?" with 8 questionmarks but he hasn't replied."

I think Klopp and Boateng always had a good relationship after his loan spell for Dortmund a few years back and Boateng actually talked a few times about the fact that he would like to come back to the Bundesliga and if possible play for Dortmund and under Klopp again so it's more a friendly piss take from him now that he joined Schalke who are of course Dortmunds arch rivals.

He's definitely been judged on highlight reels imo. He's never had a particularly good season. He's had a season where he scored some good goals. If anything 12 million euros is too much and he's not good enough for Schalke. He wasn't good enough for Milan and was particularly bad last season, so I don't see why he'd be good enough for a side hoping to finish top 3 in the Bundesliga. He'll score some good goals that will appear on youtube and thus some people will still rate him, but he really isn't very good and I doubt many Milan fans will care about this.

But but but he's got cool haircut and ink on his neck and it says 'Prince' on his shirt and his boots are bling.

He's a good player who suited Milan's system with a third midfielder. Very surprised he was available and didnt join a top club

Isn't he one of the players who just shoots on sight? It's all I've ever seen him do to be honest.

Seemed very arrogant despite not being a top bracket player.

Why? What is he good at? There is no way he's good enough for a top club. I don't want dismiss another persons opinion out right, but honestly it's like saying Ben Arfa should join a top club. They both look good on youtube, but in reality are pretty average.

KPB is an attacking midfielder who creates an amount of chances that wouldn't be good enough for mid table teams, let alone top sides. He would make about 60% of the amount of passes top players in his position make. His defensive contribution wasn't much either. He excelled at nothing and wasn't an all rounder. He wore the number 10 shirt of Milan, yet was usually around the 50th most creative player in Serie A.

What top club would possibly be interested in a player like him. He wouldn't even rank in the top 20 ACM's in Europe.

One of Schalke's directors said that Boateng had decided to leave Milan before they eliminated PSV and he had a deal with Berlusconi to let him leave when they qualify for the group stages. The reason for his departure was the racism in Italy.

Already denied by everyone involved including the Schalke official who made that statement in the first place. Boateng wanted back in the Bundesliga for a while now according to his brother and he wanted to be closer to his son who lives in Düsseldorf.

Ah, I see.
