Kenny Tete

20 year old Ajax RB, he's turned down a new contract and only has one year left on his current one, supposedly available for £5M with us and Juve interested.

Knew he was a tit.

Terrific name, how good is he though?

He's talented and obviously not the finished product, but he already has plenty of experience. Considering how much we need to do and have to invest, and if he'd really be available for a fee like that, then he's more than worth it. It also makes more sense having a young player competing with one of Darmian or Valencia, than having two senior players there. Obviously it would mean the end of Varela at United.

No idea if this guy is any good or not but if Juventus want a RB then we should sell them Darmian. He's been a massive disappointment but we could probably got most of our money back if we sell him to an Italian club this summer. Then they won't compete with us for this player.

We need to go and have a private conversation with him.

A tête-à-tête, if you will.

Sorry

That's some utter cr*p journalism by the mirror. He didn't turn down a new contract, he even signed one, as @imperi stated above. No way he'll be available for only £5M, even with Raiola as his agent.

Don't agree with this either. He has only played 35 first team matches total and 54 with the reserves in the Jupiler League (Dutch version of the Championship). He became a regular first XI at the start of this season and in Januari he was subbed of with a torn Ankle Joint Ligament. Playing half a season in the Eredivisie isn't exactly what I call 'plenty of experience'.

That said, man... He's superb defensively. A true tackling machine. Should bring more forward, but defensively he certainly is one of the most talented (right)backs I've seen in years. Better for him to mature at Ajax though. Much to learn and it's always better to be bought as a 'big man' than as a 'talent for the future'.

So he hasn't played since January?

Played last week with the reserves and got subbed in for the last ten minutes yesterdau v FC Utrecht. Not much to say really. Don't think Frank de Boer will change much now he's coming back. The back four at Ajax seems to be standing well and as they say, never change a winning team, especially not in the last games of the season. But we'll see.

Sounds a bit like our current Dutch RB. ;)

Was under the impression that it's his second season as a 20 year old. Felt that plenty was the right word, but I stand corrected.

Can't arque with that. Although I don't really see him as a rightback, TFM is another reason Kenny Tete shouldn't be brought in now. One Dutchie regularly warming the couch at OT is enough if you ask me ^^

If I didn't know better and saw him play, I would think that too, so no shame in that. When he plays, he plays very, very 'mature'. Or well, most of the time. And IIRC he made his debut in 13/14, so maybe that explains your thought?
