Back before all this Rio thing started, there were constant rumours of replacing our mad frenchman (Fabien).

Was, and is, this all speculation! I think he's good for another season or two, and by then Roy will be raring to take over the number 1 spot.

Still do, if we can find an adequate replacement. Doubt it will happen for another year or two. Feel better that we have Rio infront him though.

Now, as for Dudek having a crap WC. He seems lost without Hyypia and Handchoz infront of him. ;)

to be honest, if i was a liverpool fan i wouldnt care less how he played at the WC as long as he did the business for the club (which on the main he has)

Likewise for barthez...dont give a damn how he played in the WC as long as he does the business next year for us..

He has thus far, but for the reasons I mentioned above. He has Hyppia and Handchoz protecting him at LFC, which makes him look like a very good keeper. He isnt afforded that luxury with the Polish NT and the results are quite obvious.

Fine by me then..

If he continues to look like the best keeper in the league for us, he can let in loads for Poland without his decent defence..

Sander didn't look as good as Dudek behind the best defence in the league tho

Westerveld had has own Barthez like blunder issues. Your entire defense seems to be playing with more confidence since he left.
 
Another thread that's now discussing the scousers.

I suppose now that we've got our man, we dont have any worries and can get back to that old sport of scouse-baiting.

Still it's amusing how the old saying "ignore them and they'll go away" doesnt apply to our oh-so-funny friends from across de river misery :p
 
I won't be surprised if he's sold, and Rustu comes in, there would be no overall cost I would think.
 
Personally, I can't understand why the poo sold Westerveld - he was doing a great job. Dudek on the other hand has done the job for them, better than Barthez did for Utd. last season, but I still feel Westerveld was better than him.

People don't ignore them. They're guaranteed a reaction and an argument within 5 minutes of posting. If we did ignore them, they wouldgo away.
