I was a big critic of Yorkes attitude last season..but recently im starting to come around to the idea that we should keep him.

When hes on form, Dwight is without doubt one of our better players. His performance in destroying Arsenal was class, as were his European performances. He also brings things to the team which some of the others cant, his hold-up play used to be the best since Hughes and i always thought he was one of our best players at getting his head on crosses. Ill never forget his headed goals in Europe..Becks crosses..yorkie dives in...goal.

Theres no arguing that he let himself down last season, his attitude stank and his limited appearances reflected this.

However, he's scored once in preseason..alright it was only Shelbourne but he still scored. I would like to see him kept on for a few months to see if our new coach can motivate him back to being his former self again. If he can, then we've got a 10m player on our hands again. Id hate to see us lose him for 4m or less and for Souness or someone else to get him back on track again, banging in the goals that we all know hes capable off..

It would also cure our 4th striker problem.

give him one last chance Fergie...

After reading the '4th Striker' threads, it may be a decent option.

However, his attitude is the problem, not his ability. I can't see a Fergie U-Turn on this one.

If the price is right, we'll sell him. Its a shame though, perhaps a change of attitude etc, he could prove us all wrong.

i know a lot depends on fergie on this..but i think he should keep him on for 3 months and see what Carlos can do with him. See if he can give him fresh motivation. Im sure Fergie would be as happy as the rest of us to see a fresh Yorke.

He'll be 31 in a few months. He has one year left on his contract. And he plays one season of good form. If we can get £5m for him I'd take it.

he also scored in our last preseason. I was growing hope that he may have found his form back, but after that he was still the same which he seem like he can't be arsed to do anything on the pitch.

as someone said, it's cruel world.

I think we should sell him. He really has a serious attitude problem at the moment. Bad influence to our kids too. :(

Kenyon was quoted as saying we're in ongoing negotiations with Blackburn over Yorke as recently as yesterday. Hopefully it will be done soon.

hmm maybe the impetus of the sale of Disco might kickstart our purchase of a new forward, who is more committed to our United cause.

would be nice, if that were the case, but he needs a change of scenery, and linking up with Andy (sorry, Andrew) would be the just the spark
anyway, anytime Fergie sees his face , he thinks of PdC...

With his reputation you would have thought he'd 'score' more than once during the pre-season ;)

Fully agree with Tomo

We've all enjoyed his gift of the game for a few years and he's crossed the line as explained in my option #4 at the Rio poll.

He's obviously lost interest in the club.
It's too bad :(

Just returned from the pages of Soccernet...

Cole quoted as saying: Yorke is highly interested in leaving MU to reunite his partnership with Cole, as they have been keeping in touch by telephone.

I'd say that quite clearly spells out "Lack of Interest"

See ya Yorkie
