Kevin Keegan is hoping that Jaap Stam will return to Manchester – to sign for City. The Manchester City manager has launched a bid for the Dutch defender who was sold to Lazio by United last year. Stam has had a disappointing season in Serie A, joining Lazio reluctantly and then being banned after testing positive for nandrolone. Lazio have yet to pay United in full for Stam and have been trying to offload him.He would be expensive in terms of his fee – around £10m – but that has not deterred Keegan or City and the player's wages are unlikely to be a stumbling block either.
