United withdraw Keane

Roy Keane is OUT OF Manchester United's Premiership assignment against Middlesbrough and OUT of the Republic of Ireland's World Cup warm up friendly against Denmark next week.

The Irish skipper missed United's clinical demolition of Boavista in midweek with a hip injury and while Alex Ferguson did not consider the problem serious at the time, he has decided to rest his skipper for the next ten days.

Looks like it will be

Giggs ----- Scholes ----- Butt ---- Becks

Hopefully Seba and Keano will be rested.

Why? Three world class midfielders, and the last one an England International who's been one of our best players this season

Oh, bugger! :(

Or is SAF being a naughty boy again, pretending there is something wrong with Keane so that he doesn't have to play for Ireland?

Remember the second leg qualifier against Iran in midweek when Keane couldn't play because of injury, and then turned out for us on the Saturday!

Personally, I'm glad he is out for a while because he has been an ever present up until now. The rest will do him good and he can recharge his batteries. Nicky will do a job so no worry there.

It's almost like he's getting two weeks off, after the West 'am game, which will do him the world of good imo.

Agreed, he's being rested for the leeds game.

The last I heard is that he's Ok and could play on Saturday! :D

Another hilarious prank from Sir Alex imo.
This Ruud/Keano/Seba/Ole injury talk must be a ploy for the game against Leeds, tho I can't see either, barring Ruud, playing v Boro.
