KEANO FOR CELTIC.

Will keano join up with the hoops next season.
I think yes.
:p

Only ifhe is ready for the Travellers yard that is Scottish League football.Of course even on one leg he would be better than Hartson , Sutton and the other Premier rejects currently running round Parkhead.

I think the odds of Keano going to Celtic are the same as Martin O'Neil coming to Old Trafford.

Very Good. :D

Keep dreaming boys O'neil is already at the best
club in the land, give me one reason why he would
want to go to the prawn sandwich brigade.

:p

Cos he's a relatively young, ambitious manager, who is hungry for glory. I don't think any rational manager in the Britain, whether currently employed or not, would say no if United came calling. Biggest club in Britain, and one of the biggest in the world. It's the pinnacle, as managerial positions go.

Martin O'Neil is the happiest man in the land!!!

There are two chances of him joining you at Man Utd:

Nane and F**k all!!!!!!

Where do you get this pish from, money means jack
shit when it comes to down to it, dont get me wrong Man Emu are a big club but you sadly lack
that raw emotion when it comes down to it. Me and
my mates went to Ibrox last year when we beat the
Rangers 3.0 and sitting 10 rows up was none other
the Keano himself, and I quote he said if only our
own fans did'nt sit on their feckin hands all game there might be some kind of atmosphere.
So if you want to call having loads of money a big
club you just do that.

I would rather have what we have any day and deep
down so should you.

Agreed about the above. That's why I feel O'Neil is the right man for the United job.

Why would any decent player actually 'want' to join Celtic when they are still wanted by a decent Prem club
Sutton, Hartson, Burley, Stubbs, Thompson, Kharine, Vega need I go on have all done well in Scotland and flopped in England

It says a lot about O'Neill's man-management skills that he has galvanised such a bunch of journeymen and Premiership misfits though.
If I had a choice...I would pick O'Neill before Cappello...the only "European" option I would go for above O'Neill would be Cruyff.

He will go to Celtic but not next season. He has made it plainly clear that he wants to end his career there so it won't come as a shock to anyone when he goes.

Celtic fans want to believe that MO'N will stay there for a while but that ain't gonna happen either. He is too good for the SPL. For a man of his youth and ambition winning the SPL etc. will not appease his desire for successs. Only management in England will suffice unless the Glasgow two join the EPL  (like that's gonna happen).

I haven't made my own decision on who I'd like to see taking over for SAF but at the moment MO'N is at the top of my list. He has prior knowledge of the prem, has passion and ambition, teaches attacking footy with solid defence. DO'L just doesn't seem to have what it takes yet. He's always saying his players are young etc. or that they deserved more out of the game. He just comes off like a pussy to me. Wenger could do OK but I doubt he'll leave the Arse. SGE? Doubt it. The country hates MUFC enough without us getting Sven and I doubt the PLC would want to get into a tug 'o' Sven with the FA. As for Capello - too old, Hitzfeld - doubt he'll leave Bayern, van Gaal - No chance.

Anywayz, Keano won't leave at the end of the season ... OK?

that's what I've been saying all along. Why on earth would he limit himself by staying in the SPL when he could move up to the biggest club there is. The answer is - he probably won't limit himself.

whenever did the PLC care about PR? We have to get the best, at this moment SGE is the numbero uno candidate for the role. I don't give a flying toss if it upsets a few ABU's.

Me niether mate but I just don't see it happening. Although, SGE would be in a win-win situation. If we win the WC he could quit as a winner, if we don't, he moves on to MUFC and lets someone else build for the next Euro Championships with England. Sooooo, you never know eh?

All this uncertainty is killing me though. I usually try not to get caught up in these kind of debates but the SAF successor is a hard one not to.

Sven?...even United have to live in the real world.
What scenario would you envisage Eriksson being a viable option for United next season?(just imagine how long they would have to wait for him for a start with no gaurantees)...win the World Cup?...fail miserably?...make the quarters or the semis?
The FA would probably want him to stay on no matter what anyway.
the FA wouldn't allow themselves to be seen to be subordinate to Manchester United.
Eriksson isn't in the frame...United may want him to be...but the reality is otherwise.

Here's one ...

BECKS TO GET SVEN 13/11/2001

By John Edwards, Daily Mail
David Beckham will play a pivotal role in Manchester United''s pursuit of Sven Goran Eriksson as their next manager.

The England captain, who has forged a remarkable bond with the national coach since his appointment last year, is believed to favour the Swede as successor to Sir Alex Ferguson, who steps down as Old Trafford manager at the end of the season.
Beckham is aware Eriksson yearns for a return to club football once his England task is complete and close friends say Old Trafford''s most high-profile player will be quick to recommend the former Lazio coach to United''s board.
Tempting Eriksson would help the club convince 26-year- old Beckham his long-term future is at Old Trafford as talks continue over his new contract.
Eriksson has often talked of how he revels in the day-to-day running of a football club and shunned national coaching roles, including his native Sweden twice, before finally being tempted by FA chief executive Adam Crozier''s overtures.
But only last week Eriksson was lamenting the fact England''s next game is not until the new year. He said:''No games between now and February? I''ve always had that. Maybe it''s the only thing I don''t like in this job.
Moves to line up Eriksson would certainly delight Beckham and United''s other England players. Beckham has been quick to praise Eriksson for his coaching techniques and manmanagement style. The relationship between the two has proved successful and the midfielder is obviously mindful of the way the Swede has handled such a high-profile job and how that could fit in with United''s requirements.

I doubt it too but as I said before, "you never know"

Sutton
His goalscoring record is the same as Robbie Winters, Andy Kirk and Stuart Elliott. He's played quite well but hardly set the heather alight. And did he flop at Blackburn? Norwich? Or was it a different player who topped the Premiership scoring charts in 1998?

Hartson
Failed to score in 8 out of 10 games. Really prolific, isn't it?

Burley and Stubbs
Decent in Scotland, decent in England. Burley had 1 good season for Celtic but struggled badly when he wasn't played in an attacking mid role. And few people ever rated Stubbs up here.

Thompson
He's a squad player who's probably 3rd choice for the left midfield slot. Arguably, he was more important to Villa. After all, who's the better man manager? O'Neill or Gregory? ;)

Kharine
Celtic's 3rd choice goalie since he arrived - in what way do you constitute that as "doing well" ? Perhaps if you didn't listen to the short-sighted ramblings of the English press and actually watched some Scottish football you might be able to make a half-decent argument. Maybe.
