Roy's statement reads:

"I believe that the charges brought against me by The Football Association were not justified and I feel that the evidence and arguments put forward by me and my legal representatives to the Disciplinary Commission were sufficiently strong. Accordingly, I would prefer to have this matter reviewed by way of an appeal.

"However, I consider that I must put the interests of Manchester United Football Club and my family before my own, and for that reason I have decided not to pursue an appeal against the decision of The Football Association Disciplinary Commission."

Manchester United have also released a statement regarding Roy's decision. The statement reads:

"Manchester United supports Roy’s decision not to appeal against the FA’s judgment. This now allows everyone to draw a line under the matter. We look forward to the Club captain regaining full fitness and returning to first team action on the completion of his suspension."

I assume you're over the moon for the ban on the complete thug Dennis Bergkamp then.

Yep and we're signing Mart Poom as well. I mean, if you're gonna believe The Sun might as well go all the way!

What a ridiculous statement......Dennis just doesn't do thug......he's a flair player, probably more kicked than anyone else in the PL.Hardly surprising he is occasionally a little rash under such provocation, whereas Keane is just a thug

The TV pictures showed he didn't touch Carragher.....his sending off was harsh. The Jonsson incident happened in front of me at Highbury.....there was clearly no intent and the Blackburn player didn't complain.

Whereas Keane is a lout and a thug.
