Does anyone here agree with Keano`s opinion that the FA Cup is not important these days? He says in his book that he was happy to miss it and go to Brazil. This is a free society (despite what some people think) and Keano is welcome to his opinion but I think it is a bit unfortunate.

I will never forget so many FA Cup finals - they have a magic all their own when they are good games (that excludes the likes of Chelsea FA Cup finals). Who will forget Robbo and Eric at different FA Cup Finals - I won`t.

But I do think the Brazil tournament was a farce and Roy saying that the Premiership and Champions League are the only worthwhile competitions is too dismissive of the tradition that is the FA Cup. And it is ironic - when United went off to Brazil many fans and the team and management howled when the media criticised the decision yet as Roy has admitted, the FA Cup was not and is not important to him and probably others.

Does anyone know of any other players who have admitted to a certain contempt for the FA Cup - United players of course?

The most important thing that counts nowadays is money... so I bet we should comment about the financial aspects of a game instead of it's beauty... its too bad!

We're becoming money slaves... :p back to the roots!
