Keane: has the hunger to win
Manchester United captain Roy Keane has insisted that he and his fellow teammates have the hunger to succeed both on home soil and in Europe this season.
Keane believes that it is time for the talking to stop and for United to prove their critics wrong.
"A lot of people have done a lot of talking - last season still hurts," keane told MUTV. Keane's comments come just days before United embark on their Champions League campaign against Zalaegerszeg.
"This club must be in the Champions League," said Keane. "The lads are ready for it and we know we won't be getting any second chances. We need to produce next week and hopefully we will do that."
United's skipper believes that the players must show their hunger to win trophies this season or miss out. He said: "I think Arsenal and Liverpool have really improved over the last few years and they passed us by last year basically because they had that bit of hunger that we lacked.
"You can put that down to a lot of reasons but the fact is we didn't win anything and it is up to the players to put that right."
The Reds now have one more pre-season game, at home to Boca Juniors in the UNICEF match, to prepare for their European and domestic campaigns.
Keane said: "We have got Boca Juniors coming here and that will be a decent game then the important stuff starts next week."
