He's BACK !

Quick message to our rivals - Be afraid, be very very afraid

Would anyone be surprised if he made the bench next weekend ?

His ban ends after today. But from Fergie's comments after the match, it doesn't sound like he'll be fit to play against Arsenal (unless it's all more mind games from Fergie)...

i really hope it is a mind trick from SAF and that keane can get a run out soon.

He won't be ready until New Year, don't get your hopes up, his recovery has been slower than expected and they'll be very protective of him.

He usually makes quick comebacks, didnt he after his injury late last season
Straight back in the minute he was back in training if i remember correctly, fast healer, natural fitness and all that?

He's not going to play next week. He's been out for 2 months, even Keano can't get fully fit in 7 days after that sort of lay off.
Realistically give it another 2 or 3 weeks

Where did you see this? Is it official or just a rumor?

I reckon he will feature somehow in the Arsenal game on Saturday.

Fergie is keeping cards close to his chest. I sensed a real purposeful air about him yesterday. He was calm and collected after the match.

Keane has been doing gym and gitness training for about 4 weeks from what I've heard. It's just that he hasn't been allowed to kick a ball and do twisting and turning.

I wouldn't expect he's lacking in general fitness.

Imagine the roar if his name get's announced as playing on Saturday!!! <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" />

I dont think he'd risk him from the start in such a big match after being out for so long but if he makes the subs bench then what a player to bring on for the last 15-20 minutes if required.

theres only one roy keane! the sooner he's back the better. he's a god, simple as that. <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" />

I'd offer my apologies oh Great One.... but I somehow suspect 'someone' used it before both of us ;)

As for Keano, why not stick him on the bench just for the mind games? The quality of our subs has not exactly been too fearsome of late <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" />

From TeamTalk:
Sir Alex Ferguson says David Beckham and Rio Ferdinand will not be fit to face Arsenal in Saturday's Premiership showdown at Old Trafford.
The Manchester United manager says he does not expect any of his long-term injured players to return for the crucial clash, which could close the gap at the top of the table to just three points if United win.
England skipper Beckham is out of action after breaking a rib and is not expected to be fit enough to resume full training until the next week at the earliest, while record signing Ferdinand is sidelined with a thigh strain.
"I won't have too many problems picking my side," said Ferguson. "It picks itself at the moment because these are the only players I have got."
United went into the game against Liverpool on Sunday without Beckham, Ferdinand, Roy Keane, Nicky Butt and Laurent Blanc, but were boosted by the return of England full-back Gary Neville, who has recovered from a thigh strain.
Keane is said to be making progress and is expected to start full football training this week.
Ferguson's assistant Carlos Queiroz said at the weekend that it will be New Year before all United's injured stars return.
"It's a surprise we want to keep until the second stage of the season," he added. "It will be something new for the league when all of them are together!
"Everything is OK with Roy and he is progressing. The expectations were that he would be ready for the last week of December or first week of January and we are very confident that will happen."

That is what I thought. No point getting our hopes up too much. End of December will be here soon enough I suppose. <img src="graemlins/houllier.gif" border="0" alt="[Houllier]" />

This is Wanger's face now <img src="graemlins/nervous.gif" border="0" alt="[Nervous]" /> and said " Oh...NO!"

ESPN confirms it:

<a href="http://www.soccernet.com/england/news/2002/1202/20021202mufckeane.html" target="_blank">http://www.soccernet.com/england/news/2002/1202/20021202mufckeane.html</a>

Keano will back in training this week. This could be,in addition to the win over Liverpool, a real emotional lift for the team. <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" /> <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" />

be good to have him back training with the first team though. he's joining a side beginning to click together defensively at least.
will the squad notice his cheeky new expression, angel eyes roy <img src="graemlins/angel.gif" border="0" alt="[Angel]" /> no messin now lads, roys back a new man so i am...
be interesting to see if there is any change. ;)
if not the team better keep winning or theyll get a kick up the fish sandwich <img src="graemlins/annoyed.gif" border="0" alt="[Annoyed]" />
