The Polish midfielder has been linked with us via numerous news outlets the past few days. Asked a reputable source on twitter if there was any truth to the claims and he affirmed that we have been watching him all season.

Does anyone know anything about him? I'm not familiar with the Polish League.

He's an 18 year old midfielder playing for Lech Poznań. He broke into their first team this very season and has impressed, he's still pretty rough and inconsistent but the talent is definitely there. He has been dubbed the Polish Modric and while I'm not sure he has all the tools to become as good as him, I think he could be nurtured into a very good midfielder at a big club.

He shouldn't cost much either, I'd imagine €2m would be enough to sign him.

He's more of an offensive midfielder from what I've seen, likes to drift to the sides of the pitch but can retain the ball as well. He's very young so perhaps he could be turned into a different type of player, he certainly has enough talent to succeed.

I wonder how much of an influence Lewandowski's emergence has had on scouts paying more attention to Polish players.

I doubt it. He has just broken into Lech Poznań team and there are hardly any foreign scouts at youth league games. Perhaps he could have asked someone from within Poland to give him some feedback but I don't think he was sending scouts over to follow him before this year.

I think he played towards the end of last season and for the youth teams, it's this season that he's become a consistent member of the first team though.

I don't follow Lech that much so I might be wrong.

Sarni seems to be more or less spot on. He's played 14 matches in Polish premiership although merely 770 minutes, so he was mostly subbed. Played as a CAM most of the time or on the left. I've read in some rag here that we're looking at him 'in order to replace Kagawa' feck knows this guy's potential, I suppose that if he was the 'real deal' then he'd break into our NT as it's begging for some decent attacking player who can create.

Not unreasonable that he hasn't been called up yet. Only just turned 18, only just started playing first team football. Should he have been capped in October for the last two qualifying games? I wouldn't think so. Would only put needless pressure on him. He'll probably get his chance soon enough if he keeps on playing for Lech.

Yea you're right about qualification games but I think that he could've been picked in games where we've played just the league players in friendlies.

Well I'm very sceptical about this speculation to be fair.

Fornalik couldn't have seen him enough to warrant a cap IMO, it hardly means anything. He's an 18-year old who has just turned professional, he has time on his side. He'll probably get a call-up from Nawałka soon enough.
