Apparently us,spurs and bayern are after this guy. Any idea how good he is?

Pain in the ass old school centre back who gets under opposition skin. Vidic like for Torino, but remains to be seen if he can step up to a top club.
A quick stats glance shows he has scored 7 goals as well though, maybe our second choice after otamendi? Although him being 27 and mostly unheard of is a bit of a worry.
He's grown into a very good defender. Not sure if he's good enough for United at the minute but I'd be happy if he came here for obvious reasons. Very highly rated in Italy.

He was 22 when he left Piast Gliwice in Polish league to go to Palermo who then refused to play him at all and loaned him to Serie B side Bari. He was 24 when Palermo eventually sold him to Torino who were in Serie B at the time so it took some time for him to reach Serie A - he's been very good since he started playing there though and has proven himself at every possible level so far.
I don't really know much about him but my friend who follows Serie A thinks he's one of the best defenders this season.

Ahh so this season is probably not a one off.
Compared his stats to both hummels and otamendi, seems to be a mixture of both which is good since can probably play with either. Otamendi is a beast defensively though!
He played 1-2 seasons well at Torino, and thats all.
He's Torino's captain now, been one of their stellar performers this season, scored plenty of goals for them and their fans are absolutely in love with him. I'd echo @Sarni 's thoughts, no idea if he's 'good enough' for United but he's a great defender, pain in the ass for the strikers, tough as hell motherlover. Definitely best Polish defender and he's had some great performances for our NT, he's looked very good against Germany iirc.
At some point in his youth he played for RM's b or c team, not that it matters much but he's got some experience and learnt his trade a bit there I assume. Very down to earth guy who always gives 100%.

Could be seen as a back up to Jones and Smalling as the main pairing perhaps?
He seems like the type of player we should take a gamble on. Seen him once or twice and he's looked impressive both times, coupled with rave reviews in Italy. He strikes me as a player who puts defending first rather than the other attributes which is what we need after Vidic left. The price shouldn't be too high and I can't see what top european CB we can get if Laporte/Otamendi won't come as Varane will stay at Madrid, Hummels says he's staying at Dortmund and doesn't look the same player that he was. I would be happy with Glik or Dragovic.
