The songs included;

The Verve : "The Drugs Don't Work"

Oasis : "Stand by Me"

Radiohead : "Karma Police"

Moby : "James Bond Theme"

Ash : "A Life Less Ordinary"

Texas : "Black Eyed Boy"

Meredith Brooks : "Bitch"

Jon Bon Jovi : "Janie, Don't Take Your Love To Town"

Ocean Colour Scene : "Better Day"

That's some quality music there. Obviously there is the usual majority of crap on the album but I seriously, seriously doubt you would find that many good songs on the current albums.

Or am I just getting old?

You're getting old.

Or a tad more seriously, that CD fluked having two absolute classics in the Verve and Radiohead on it, but aside from that is no better than the rest. Besides, those CD's are all about whats popular at that moment, and what's popular doesn't ever tell us accurately the actual quality of the music from that time.

Just having a gander at the latest one, Adele's Rolling in the Deep, Chase & Status 'Blind Faith', Devlin's 'Runaway', Noah & The Whale 'L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N'. All genuinely great tracks. There's a lot of shit on there too, of course.

I must be getting old because Noah & The Whale is the only one of those I could listen to without ripping my ears off.

I don't think I'm saying music is worse now than it was a few years ago but the mainstream radio crap is, but then I suppose it always was crap it's just even crapper now.

When a plumber wins tickets to Oxegen festival and the guy on the radio asks him what he is most looking forward to seeing and he says 'The Black Eyed Peas' and 'The script' you have to wonder...

I still enjoy modern Nows.....a bit of cheese doesn't hurt now and then.

I ripped now 32 to my mac the other day. It had...

Blur - country house
Cast - alright
Oasis - roll with it
Coolio - gangstas paradise

The rest of it was shite

First Album I ever bought was Now 28, for "The Flintstones"
