I guess Manchester had to follow the Yankees and lose the championship after winning three straight. Is it coincidence or not?

No, I think you're getting mixed up with American Football...
The New York Jets and The New York Giants both play at Meadowlands which is just across the river in New Jersey...
The New York Yankees play at Yankee Stadium which is in The Bronx...
The Bronx is the only borough of New York which is actually on the mainland... ...

where you'll get you hubcaps nipped faster then parking next/near to anfield. <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> </strong><hr></blockquote>
I've been walking the streets after dark in The Bronx not because I'm hard (I'm not) but because it was a nice night...
To say The Bronx is rough is not far off saying that Manchester is rough.....
The Bronx is one of five boroughs in New York and is absolutely MASSIVE, (never saw a City fan there though)...
Where I was staying with my cousin was a very nice area but The South Bronx is where there is some trouble, but that was bloody miles away... ...
