Jungle & Drum n Bass 2010

Usually, when it comes to the genre's above, I'm stuck in the past. Finally, some new music that I can listen to and feel like I never left.

Some new Drum n Bass / Jungle

Relatively new guy 'S.P.Y' who is making some amazing remixes at the moment, alot of work with Total Sciene, DJ Marky and 8 Bits, alongside some members of MetalHeadz.

Threw in a tune from London Elektricity's new album, also excellent.

Some outstanding music still being produced today. Some of S.P.Y's darker tunes are ridiculous, Demon Seed and Gangster.....

Takes me back to this sort of sickness:

'Rage' is insane.

I do enjoy the liquid sound, and some of his music is fantastic, but I do prefer more of the above (especially the bottom videos).

For me, there's no-one really like Goldie and Doc Scott.

I need a 2010 'rage' or 'machines'

Although strictly not 2010 (so I'm a year off!) Sub Focus are the best thing to have happened to DnB in the last year or so:

I know pretty much feck all about Dn'B but a good friend of mine from London is a dj/producer who writes tunes under the name of J-Laze. Any of you ITK cnuts heard of him?

This is one of his tunes. I reckon it's quite good.

Rob Blazye! Insane!

Yes I know of him. He released a fair few tracks under Bukem's 'Goodlooking' label.

In fact, I have a track of his on a LTJ Bukems ‘Progression sessions 5' cd.

Aye, that's him.

Balding and almost as aged and grumpy as me. Heavy heavy smoker too. Lazy by name and lazy by nature.

Nice bloke though. Just a shame I never really appreciated his music.

Well, tell him he has some fantastic songs from a guy on the internet.

I never heard masses from him, or solely by him as in albums, but had a few remixes and singles on various other sets, nice progressive sound.

Pogue, do me a favor and listen to this, try and go as far as you can.

Let me know what you think.

Oh, in that case, you already know all about Timeless. Agreed, it's an amazing album and it's such a shame there's barely anything like it.

I recently found a polish website that's dedicated to just about every genre. They had a Jungle thread with 124 pages of new/unreleased/rare music, then a metalheadz thread 20 pages long with the same, it's brought me back into it again.

What about Doc Scott, familiar?

'Fraid not.

Pretty much the extent of my knowledge would include Goldie, LTJ Bukem, Roni Size, Fabio and Grooverider and... erm... that's about it.

I was only ever a casual listener tbh. Was more into house music whenever I used to listen to lots of electronic music (i.e. over a decade ago :(). Only listened to D n' B after a night out clubbing, rather than during it. Many a lovely comedown was spent listening to Timeless, mind you. Definitely an album that's got a special place in my heart.

Awesome live as well.

Also, anyone a fan of Venetian Snares?
