You've probably all read this, but kevthered is now saying -
Those of you who know what
I know will be horrified to learn that the noose is tightening around you know who

and maybe the July 5 prophecy of doom could come true after all

or maybe not

but I've just had two very scary tip -offs

so get that holiday booked for next week

or batten down the hatches

He's not saying whether its Keano, Ruud or Alex - but its basically one of those three on the way out. Either way its fecking bad news if it happens. It would need some pretty large sweeteners to make it palatable like
Keane out Zidane in
Ruud out Ronaldo in
Alex out Sven in

How about this guess: It's non of those.

I'm sorry, I see no logic behind any of it.

If that Kev is on the ball, he should say exactly whats going on, not go on and on with nonsense like 'something big could happen, and it could not'. Otherwise, July 5th is just the day American cleaners have to work harder after 4th of July.

I have had a similar tip off about Big Brother (possibly from the same source.)
He's not saying who but either Sophie or Johnny are on their way out on July 5.

Perhaps the two events are linked.

He's a crap source then because one of those will go out sooner than that.

Yes. One of them we'll go this week. I guess my source is predicting that the other one will go the following Friday.
It can't be that hard to follow, surely?

He'd still be wrong though because Jade will go the next week.

I have heard that Keano is supposed to quit football and that is what he is to be announced seems unlikely to me.

I'll tell him.

Truth is i can't see Keano leaving cos he is an emotional character, he wouldn't wait all this time and keep whatever he has planned bottled up, he would want all the fans to know ASAP.

Sir Alex, same thing, he would have retired immediately after the season ended, not wait till July 5.

Ruud, he seemed happy at united, but it is the players first season here and u never know, i somehow doubt it cos he has fitted in nicely with us.

No Disrespect to the other website but i hardly visit them and recently i have visited it quite often. Anyway , whatever happens on July 5th Manchester united will survive it, even if it sickens everyone to the stomach.

Maybe a few changes are what we need, lets just hope they are not that Drastic.

The July 5th thing was started by Rednews... and 24 hours later even they softened their stories and claimed it's more likely to be a signing and such.

Friday, July 5th. Just another day.

Where does this Kevthered bloke hang out as I would like to give him a good kicking.

let's fecking hope so mate...I am getting all <img src="graemlins/nervous.gif" border="0" alt="[Nervous]" /> here

The Keane rumour is a perfect one to spread. After the world cup fiasco it doesn't take much to concoct a story about him leaving the game.

The fact that press haven't picked up or hinted at such a story means that it is almost certainly nonsense. It has all the elements of the nasty rumour. A date of doom on which something is going to happen. A hint of credibility etc etc.

Yet big news just tends to break. Like O'Leary leaving.

does anyone know whether or not that rumour about keane having got his mistress up the duff was true or not? it's only a family issue i could see forcing keane out of the game. . .

Or his injury more likely, he was down for an op this summer, which is why he was complaining about the hard training pitch.

He actually predicted both Rio and O'Leary in <a href="http://195.8.171.32/vb_forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1538" target="_blank">March</a>!

Therefore Keano is going guys!! <img src="graemlins/nervous.gif" border="0" alt="[Nervous]" />

We all know what happens on July 4th!

Keano was talking during the world cup fiasco that he had intended to play on for Ireland until the next european championships. that was only a month ago..so he obviously hadn't intended quitting football. so then the question is would he leave OT and play somewhere else. The manager loves him, the fans love him, the players probably hate him but they know they need him...so I think he'll stay.

and b4 someone points out that at that time he had intended playing for Ireland in the world cup, United don't have a tit head like mccarthy for manager. Although leeds might soon ;)

Or could it be that Leeds have already got their replacement in the person of SAF. WOuld then make sense that Keano is joining Leeds.

July 5th = Not enough yanks with hangovers.

If, and it's a big if, something is going down at OT, then my bet would be be Fergie moving aside for Sven.

We know that the Sven deal was all but done and dusted before Fergie did a u-turn. The choice of Sven makes perfect sense - he has the respect of all the english lads at Utd, he has got the best out of Veron (buying him on two occassions as a club manager). He would be more able to attract the likes of Nesta from Lazio. He would also be attractive to Rio.

The board accepted Fergie's u-turn to take the heat off Sven and England this summer. The PLC are wary of Alex's friendship with the so called "Irish Mafia" who have a significant stake in the club and may buy it out and install Fergie as Chief Executive.

Fergie will have to retire at some point. Sven is the man they want. Perhaps they are concerned about losing out and feel they need to move now.

Thoughts?

feck sake Sven I hope not he is a fecking shit manager just look at the way England played

Please don't let it happen
PLEASE feck NO!

:(

For heavens sakes, Fergie signed a 3-year contract and appointed an assistant two weeks ago.

So it's all a smokescreen for Eriksson? Why bother With Quiroz?

It's balantly obvious that none of the doomsday theories hold any true water except 'someone said so'.

Correct. If SAF is leaving, i don't think he would bother to appoint an assistant. Unless he's being forced out i.e. DOL
:)

If Kevthered is correct, and the "noose is tightening" it suggests that the person leaving is being forced out. The consensus seems to be either Keane, Ruud or Fergusson.

For the life of me I can't see it being Ruud. There is absolutely no logic to that at all - even if Ronaldo comes in his place (seems unlikely). The idea that he doesn't want to stay doesn't make sense - the guy is passionate about UTD and by his own admission has made it his business to study the history of the club to gain a better understanding. He is a model pro and undoubtedly one of the best strikers in the world. Utd also stood by him during his rehabilitation, holding off buying a striker for a season until to see if he could come back. He has had a phenomenal season and by Fergie's estimation will get even better. He and Fergie have a fantastic relationship. Ruud also comes across brilliantly during media interviews. Even if Real or whoever came in with a £50 million bid, UTD could not replace him and certainly not his commitment and passion for UTD.

Keane is the next possibility. However, he is seen as Utd's most inspirational player and consistently UTD's top performer. I can't see him retiring a la Cantona (who later admitted he made a mistake and felt he left too early from a playing perspective). Yet, one can't shake the feeling that Keane is not Mr Popular among the players. He seems to be able to make public criticism of UTD players without apparent censure and his comments are far more caustic than the mild one's that earnt Stam an undignified exit. It seems he and Veron do not get along well at all. Veron's game is inhibited by Keane's dominance of the ball (the most passed to player at Utd). Veron was better with Butt, who was happier to play the defensive role and release Veron to hurt the opposition (as in Veron's best game in Europe against Valencia).

Fergie has said that he wished he had 10 Roy Keane's. It would therefore seem ridiculous UTD would let him go.

If it's not Fergie, and I admit appointing a new assistant seems odd if he's going, unless it's just blown up after his arrival, the only player leaving that would horrify UTD fans is Scholes. He couldn't adjust to the new role. Refused to play in the Worthington cup and has been subdued and less influential than his usual self. Fergie has stated he will not sell Veron. He will not give the media that satisfaction of admitting a mistake. If it's a player and not Fergie - I think Scholes could be on his way.
