Don't know all that much about him apart from being a lanky DM and a bit of a late bloomer who stopped being loaned out only recently at the age of 25 (he's 26 now), but he seems key for Sporting and broke into the Portugal squad in the last year as well. I'll look forward to the lowdown from our resident Sporting guys. :)

Could easily be the budget option if West Ham continue asking crazy money for Rice, but it could very easily be Portuguese journos putting 2 and 2 together, as we saw with about 700 players from the league we were linked with in the past few years before we actually signed a couple.

I'm sold. They don't concede many.

The way I'm approaching these kind of stories where numerous named teams are in for a player, is I look for the odd team out and figure they're the interested party and the others are just for leverage.

So Wolves for this lad. Makes sense.

Would be cautious of him as may be a player in the right system and tactics that has been implemented by a class up and coming manager.

More of a big fish in a small pond, like Bruno in my opnion, I'd say he'd transfer well into the Premier League. Lots of energy, a big physical unit and isn't afraid to put himself about.

Never forget this is the club that sold us Rojo. Not sure we should be doing business with them.

Ummm Bruno ?

Bruno, Nani and Ronaldo don't exist.

EDIT - Joke went over my head

That's the joke people, ffs.

Actually, @SportingCP96 already wrote some very interesting thoughts about him. There must be a different thread floating around here somewhere. He at least got me very interested.
Yeah, I believe it's the football thread, he's a big fan.

He has good defensive stats in Portugal league.

Not sure how he will turn out in PL, but since we are running out of time and options, let's get him.

I think that was in the ‘Matic replacement’ thread possibly?

I really like the look of this guy from what I’ve seen live for Portugal and on YT for Sporting. Proper defensive minded, aggressive midfielder who can anchor the midfield (with some good passing to boot). Would prefer this man over at ~30m over Rice (expensive) or Zakaria (average)...

Maybe Amorim is asking for him for when he comes in the summer...

Between Fernandes and Ronnie and the need for a specialist DM you'd have to think we'd be in prime position for him if he's any good

I know, right? Like Ndombele. Or no, well maybe not him. Bergwijn, though....or no, Hojberg? Gil? Dele?

I made a thread about him a while ago. There's a Benfica lad that gave great references. I saw very little of him for Benfica, but he caught my eye playing for Portugal.

@SportingCP96 will be gutted mid season!
I hope it is not true but with the emergence of 20 year old Manuel Ugarte and still having 17 year old Dario Essugo in the mix if we have To make the sale he makes the most sense.

Gutted if he left though.
