Tottenham target Palermo's Slovenian playemaker Josip Ilicic - IMScouting
Tottenham have made enquiries about signing Slovenian playmaker Josip Ilicic from US Palermo , according to Italian sources.

Ilicic has been in tremendous form for Palermo since arriving from NK Maribor in the summer. He has scored eight goals and set up three this term for the side lying fifth in Serie A – an efficiency ratio of a goal or assist every 165.9 minutes.

His agent Armir Ruznic, meanwhile, said no concrete move had been made for the 23-year-old, and that although the player would in theory be interested in a switch to England, it was unlikely to happen for a couple of years.

"I have not had any contact with Tottenham chiefs, although it is indisputable that the player would like the English club," he told reterete24.it. "There are several teams in the English and Spanish leagues, as well as the Italian one, interested in him, but at present there is no concrete track to suggest to his departure from Palermo at the end of the season.

"In addition, president Zamparini confirmed to me several times his intention to build the team around him and [compatriot Armin] Bacinovic, in a bid for a Champions League place.

"Certainly their contractual situation should soon be reviewed, but the players are unlikely to leave Palermo for the next two years."

I've only seen a bit of him, he's technically gifted and has a wand of a left foot, not sure he's suited to the Prem though, anyone seen enough to really make an assessment?

Chelsea have also tracked the player in the past, but now Italian sources claim Spurs are keen to bring the player to White Hart Lane.

“I have not had any contact with Tottenham chiefs, although it is indisputable that the player would like the English club,” agent Armir Ruznic told reterete24.it.
