Joshua Zirkzee (Out)

Hopefully he goes to Juve on a permanent basis. He doesn’t have the quality needed for the PL such as Depay or Antony before him.

He should have never come. Thank you ETH and Ashworth.

Last summer’s incoming players:
Mazraoui, De Light, Ugarte, Yoro, Zirkzee.

You always unhappy with a 80% score?

[Simon Stone] Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli speaking on TV re rumous of interest in Joshua Zirkzee ahead Italian Super Cup semi-final with AC Milan. "We have never spoken to Manchester. They have situations to resolve. Juventus must wait and see but there is nothing yet."

Looks like, it confirms there is interest from Juventus. Juventus director didn’t deny their interest and even mentioned ‘’they have situation to resolve, Juventus must wait and see’’.

I hope we get to sell him permanently. £30m will pay off the cheque book that we owe to Bologna.

I wonder which situation(s) he means in particular. The PSR or something else.

I think it’s the culture and environment. Put him in United 2012 and he probably takes over from Berbatov. Put Chicarito in our current team and his confidence is through the floor after 10 games.
I understand what all those words mean but I can’t understand how anybody would think Zirkzee is somehow even remotely as capable as Berbatov was — let alone possessing Berbatov’s sheer artistry -- to suggest he’d take over. I must be missing your meaning.

You are right, Mazroui was a steal, Ugarte and De Ligt are good players with will serve us well for many years and Yoro is a generational talent.

Just missed it with Zirkzee. He is too slow and lazy for this league, and doesn’t pressure Rasmus enough for him to get better.

Probably means that’s our environment was so solid back then, that Zirkzee would flourish after Berbatov, not be the Berbatov reincarnate.

Alternately put Berbatov in the current United side and he’d likely have people on his back too.

He’s a wonderful player and his touches were sublime - but he was heavily criticized back then for being too slow and wasteful in his chances - especially as he was pushing Tevez out of the team, who was a fan favorite before his move to City

Berbatov was a PL proven technical wizard though, who came into a very good side and could be carried.

That could be what was meant, but then I would have to completely disagree. It's not United that is the problem, but rather it's the Premier League and Zirkzee's skill level. We had donkeys back then too, and he would have been just as much of a donkey with world class players next to him as he is now. Probably the contrast would have been even more jarring.

Berbatov is like a thousand times better than Zirkzee. That’s a bad comparison

These Berbatov comparisons need to stop because if he was anything like Berba he’d be one of the best players in the world in this current game. As it is we are shipping him back to Italy after 5 months.

If we can get him so quickly at least we're learning. Would be amazing to get anywhere near what we bought him for though.

Loan with us paying 50-75% is more our style.

Berba had a few decent patches and still showed extreme class at times. Comparing these two players is an insult.

Berbatov would instantly be our best player, and it would be clear to see.

Standard answer that covers him for either eventuality. If there was nothing in it though, that second part isn’t said.
