Coyle on New Triallist

Owen Coyle is taking a look at Manchester United midfielder Ritchie Jones.

He played as a trialist in this midweek's reserve game against Chester.

Coyle said: 'He is under contract to another club at the moment, so it would be remiss of me to speak any more about him, but I like the look of him.'

Richard 'Ritchie' Jones joined Manchester United as a junior and came through the Red Devils Club's Acadamy starting from the age of 9!

He mainly plays in the centre of midfield.

The 21-year old has made five appearances for the first team in the FA Cup and League Cup.

His contract at United was extended by two years in June 2006, but this will now expire at the end of the 2007-08 season fuelling speculation that maybe Coyle has a permanent signing in mind.

Ritchie Jones has been on loan to a number of other clubs.

Jones was on loan to Manchester United's 'feeder' club, Belgian Second Division club Royal Antwerp in 2005/6

He also played for Colchester United and Barnsley in 2006-07 and for Yeovil Town this season gaining valuable first team experience at a lower level.

Jones returned to United in December of last year.

He captained United's youth cup team and was part of the United's reserve side which won a number of trophies in 2004-05 and 2005-06.

The Manchester born defender has also played for England at U15, U16, U17 U18, U19 and U20 levels. He was a member of the England Under-19 squad which reached the final of the European Under-19 Football Championship in July 2005, before losing out to France. He was also captain during some of those games.

Sounds like the lad has pretty good potential and a great future ahead!

Looked alright a few years ago, had some potential but has stagnated the past while, hasn't impressed me at all with his reserve performances this year
