I'm not normally one to revel in another's misery, but I'm over the fecking moon that this right wing arse wound has been removed from the airways.

Oddly Gaunt seems to be going "soft".
Having used the "populist" wave, he has been forced into a kinda right wing corner.
On Andrew Neils "Week in Politics" Show he actually came accross as very reasonable. He had been talking (very passionately) about the Baby P affair.

Maybe he has been on the road to Damascus and got converted to Decency but more likely he is thinking he get into mainstream without adopting mainstream opinions
 
I'm gonna raise a glass to this event.

John Gaunt was basically the Sun newspaper in human form.

His tendency to shout down anyone who didn't agree with him made him unsuitable to host a radio phone-in opinion show.

Shame he'll find work elsewhere though.
 
I don't think that actually what he writes in the Sun or says on the radio is actually what he thinks, I don't think that's who he is, it's all done for sensationalism to sell a product. However, that said, that makes him even worse than someone that actually holds those views for real. I agree with him on the adoption/fostering thing though.

Excellent news. The biggest twat on the radio (and I include Alan Green and James Whale in that) won't be on there next time I turn it on.
