I'm increasingly frustrated by the lack of any intermediate smilie between and

It's particularly tricky when someone says something mildly amusing, but not that funny. Or when a poster of lower status than me - ie almost everyone - says something funny, and I want to get across a slightly patronising amusement: "Yes, that was funny, but I still essentially despise you"

At the same time, we've had the "Wenger" and "Houllier" ones for ages, and no new managers. there should by now be at least a Mourinho, perhaps instead of the smirk

To kill both probably plague-ridden birds with one stone, I'd like to suggest a new smilie, in the shape of a little Martin Jol head - if that's not a contradiction in terms. It would have the code :jol: and would basically signify a friendly, avuncular chortle.

If it's a success, perhaps there will be room for a his brothers :dick: and :cock:
