Lennon - brilliant!

McCartney - Nowhere as good!


Just listening to "Lennon Legends" (greatest hits) and it's overall great: 'Imagine', 'Jealous guy', 'Power to the people', ''(Just like) starting over', 'Happy Xmas (war is over)', 'Give peace a chance' and many more great hits.

Contrast that with McCartney: 'Band on the run', 'Silly love songs', 'Live and let die', 'Jet', 'Mull of Kintyre'.

Couple of good songs by McCartney but Lennon was superior. And he was getting better and better before he was cruelly gunned down by a pycho-killer.

Or put it another way: Lennon gave us Yoko Ono and McCartney gave us a one-legged whore that is Heather Mills.

That's a good list there MUM, but have some respect now for Oliver with the whole school dinners thing.
 
On topic......

Great as a partnership, both fairly average as solo artists.

If I had to pick one it would be Lennon, McCartney is a prick.

I agree with you on the first part but prefer McCartney.......

Lennon did my head in................pompous twat.
 
Lennon's music at least had some malice and angst about it (jealous guy, instant karma)

McCartney on he's own just produces bland and inoffensive music. And he got cuckolded by a women with one leg.........the shame............

Lennon was up his own arse most of the time.
I prefer bland to angsty scouser full of malice.

You obviously didn't notice the lower case "t" in the "the" then did you?

And yes I have heard them (unfortunately) and baring Live and Let Die they are one of the worst bands in the history of music.

IMO of course.

Top three in no particular order:-

Pink Floyd.

Radiohead.

The Doors.
 
without mccartney you wouldnt have even heard of lennon, and vice versa.

one without the others influence wasnt as good as when they worked together.

Imagine is a pile of old balls by the way...Maybe im Amazed is much better for example.
