Joey Barton to Liverpool?

Over at RAWK, there seems to be a few trusted ITK posters, who say that a fee has been agreed. Would any of you be happy to see him go there? Or do you think he could move move them up to another level?
 
He's good but not top 4 good, suits them down to the ground.
 
Another level, 5th? Sure.. Would be a decent player for them
 
i already thought i hated him as much as it was humanely possible to hate someone i've never actually met. good to see barton not accepting this and raising his game. he's a symbol to us all, never give up, you can always be a bigger cnut.
 
A match made in heaven. Would fit right in. Him and Gerrard could have a 'smallest forehead' competition.
 
He'd be a good signing for them. Very good player. Got some "issues", but we are quick enough to assume Fergie can keep awkward individuals on the straight and narrow. Maybe Dalglish could too.
 
He would improve them no question.

Would be a reasonable good value move assuming he doesn't do much off the field.

Not sure central midfield is what they need to focus on though.
 
Despite my personal views on him - I think that he may well be a good signing for them, unfortunately.

He had a very good seaon for Newcastle and excelled on the right side of midfield, chipped in with some goals and assists. He was also immense when Newcastle beat Liverpool (3-1) earlier in the season.
 
Dalglish seems more interested in signing street fighters than footballers. No one is going to want to face them at Anfield with bruisers like Carroll and Suarez and if they get Barton also then there is going to be some gut wrenching tackles flying around.
I have to say that I rate Barton. He scores great goals and has a great engine. I think we are lacking something along the lines of a Barton but I doubt he would be good enough for our system
 
Sadly he's a very good footballer and with Meireles, Gerrard, and Lucas (who has come on leaps in bounds toward the end of last season) they could have a very good midfield.

He'll replace Poulsen so that's already an upgrade.

Sadly, I think Liverpool since King Kenny came aboard, are making the right decisions finally after 3-4 years...
 
Good stuff from RAWK (this is if Barton signs for them):

Gerrard would ask the DJ for a bit of Phil Collins, and he'd be told NO!

Carragher would then shout and scream at the DJ for 90 minutes, covering him in spittle.
Gerrard would get the first punch in, before being dragged away
Barton would then put a fag out in his eye, and start throwing punches,
Suarez would the bite him and start pulling his hair, meanwhile Carrol would knock f*ck out of the DJ's girlfriend before shagging her senseless
As the DJ finally escapes and is crossing the road for a taxi, Barton jumps in his car and runs him over.

All allegedley of course.

Yeah they will benefit in the league from having squad players that are English/British with PL experience, not Serbs from Belgium and Serie A/LA Liga rejects.
 
Looks like another typical Liverpool purchase, always looking to expand the squad or provide alternatives rather than looking for real quality that will push them onto the next level.

Long may it continue.
 
RAWK are currently thinking Mata, Barton and Downing are looking possible.

Very interesting to see what Liverpool do this summer.
