About time. He probably won't have a role here but I think he's a really good player.

Joe Riley has revealed he was convinced to join Sheffield United by Manchester United academy chief Nicky Butt .

The 20-year-old defender has joined the League One side until the end of the season.

And Riley, who made two first-team appearances under Louis van Gaal last season, has revealed how Butt's endorsement sealed the deal.

He told the Sheffield Telegraph: “Nicky only had really good things to say about Sheffield United.

“He spoke really highly about the club, the ground and the crowd. For me, coming here makes perfect sense and I can’t wait to get out there and hopefully show people what I can do.

"It ticks every single box, to be fair, and when someone like Nicky talks it through with you and confirms what you already think then, to be honest, that just hammers it home.

"I don’t know anybody who doesn’t say anything but good things about this place."

Always liked him, as well as Sheffield United. Used to do careers with them on FIFA. Hope they get promoted and he becomes a regular, maybe even stay in the Championship with them next season. He's still young enough and Valencia just signed a new deal, after all.

Nice to join a club high on confidence in a tough league. Will most likely do him good.

He should've had a few first team games this season.

He's been injured for half of it. At best he could have hoped for one or two appearances.

I thought he played well when he was given opportunities under LvG.

Good stuff, hopefully he gets 20 minutes to run at them at the end.

Ouch. I dislocated mine about eight years ago and it still gives me trouble sometimes.
