This lad is quietly making a name for himself. He scored the winner for the U-21's in Toulon today:

On the evidence of this game he has pace, likes to run at defenders and is a great crosser of the ball. I wouldn't be surprised if he forces his way into contention in the next season or two. Definitely looks like one for the future.

I saw the game, and for me he was England's best player. He stood out for me, he looked like he had a lot of pace and his finish in the last minute was cool as you like. May not be in the first-team for some time to come, but definately a bright prospect. His celebration was a bit silly though ! :D

I posted in many other thread here before ... that I rate this kid highly ... One of them I think I even forecasted that he'll make a name for himself, overtaking Danny Webber who's - supposed to be a year or two more senior than little Jimmy Davies is .. .

And have to say here again ( nag nag nag .. old lady but nevermind I have to say it <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> ) .. .He's a very strong lad. The United backroom staff actually reckoned that he's a build similar to that of Sparky !! ... I hope he can make a name for himself very soon ... He's a bit younger than Webber isnt' it ? ... so he'll have time at his side ... whereas Webber might not contend to just Reverse game very soon .. and ask for a move ..

Jimmy davis won the Reserves Player of the year, so that shows you how well he has been playing. Althuogh he can play as a striker, I think his best position is Right Midfield/Wing where he plays for the reserves.

In the reserves this season, he has started out as a player I never wanted in the team to one who I want first on the team sheet each time. IMHO he is far better than Luke Chadwick, and would be excellent cover for Becks.

I hope Fegrie promotes him to be Beck's cover. The lad has pace similar to Kanchelskis had. And he beats defenders with his skill and can developer inot a better crosser than he is now under Becks. (Even now his ssstill a good crosser)

yes really .. he's a good player and I have read that many many times !! ... Hope Fergie is taking note ... Davies flexibility in playing up front and far right should give him a much better chance in breaking into the 1st team !! ..
He still don't have a first team no. yet .. hopefully he will get one and make a mark with flying colors !! ..

I saw him first time yesterday.

He was impressive.

Played on the right wing/free role.

He reminded me of Paul Gascoigne. Very Deceptive with the ball, beat players for fun (as Ron would say), not the pace of Giggs but as much deception and a great footballing brain. Workrate was poor but in a team full of arse cloggers.

Think he will be huge but hint of attitude problem.

Consoled somewhat as to Uniteds youth policy.

As inventive a player on view in Toulon.

Deserves part next year.

Alex knows better than me.

I've watched him in the Reserves all season. He is a good player. But some games he was anonymous. Mind you if they don't give him the ball he can't shine.

Reserve Player of the Year.

And only twenty.
