Jethro Tull

Aqualung and Thick as a Brick are their most critically acclaimed Albums. I don't like them that much personally. Although better than most of what comes out these days, they're music just seems vanilla for a progressive rock band. They aren't in the same league as Van Der Graaf Generator, Yes, Pink Floyd, Can and a few other pretentious seventies rock groups IMHO.

Thick As A Brick is one of the few "concept" albums from the 70s actually worth listening to. I really like it.

They're performance of "Song for Jeffrey" on Rock & Roll Circus is brilliant. I'm getting into Aqualung myself these days.

Yup, done doing Aqualung and am about to download Thick as a Brick. Never thought you'd be into them Wibble

Those are some huge names you've decided to slag off, MM

What huge names did I "slag off"? I said Jethro Tull were dull and I find them to be. In my opinion there are much much better prog acts out there, Tull were pretty mainstream in the seventies you have to remember and like with any genre if you search further then you'll find better music.

I don't know why but I really liked them. Having said that I probably haven't listened to them in a couple of decades or more.

I saw them at least once in concert and they were very good indeed.

Unsure if it meant in a different sense but the whole pretentious talk about the likes of Floyd and Yes for instance is what I was referring to

Not sure why I like them either. Never been into jazzy stuff but they made it work for me. I'm guessing you aren't really into the likes of Black Sabbath? (Toni Iommi was a former JT member)

Living in the past is a great song. Apart from that I haven't heard any of their stuff.

Not a huge fan then and probably less so now.

Yes annoyed me even then.
