£20m lined according to Independent Sport (Irish) and MEN. Another muppet link for muppet link-sake?

Also

Ramos, Boateng and Bastian. Who's starting the Messi thread then?

There's absolutely no way Bayern would sell for £20m, that's a laughable fee. Not even for twice that amount I'd say.

Metro and Daily Star quoted. Well done for posting literally the worst piece of journalism to ever exist.

this rumour is the stupidest thing ever. i mean seriously.

That is just lazy journalism... Laughable fee, such transfers take ages to complete, his team would not sell him. We are being linked to every decent CB available or not.

Yeah, £20m for Boateng but de Gea plus 30m for Ramos. lol

€10M increase for calling Craig Burley´s comments BULLSHIT on US TV.

This is the center back I want.

And he's worth 50 million to get him.

(I wish there was an actual up to date thread on this guy. He'd be a great pickup)

Shaw, Smalling, Boateng, Bailly

Should have waited a day for the one year anniversary of the last post on this thread to commemorate it.

(That's a joke, don't start doing that...)

Very underrated defender. I've never understood why he never gets recognition.

He is considered one of the best defenders in the world for a few years now, along with Godin - what more do you want?

A City reject. Do not want.

Would be perfect twin tower combo with Smalling though.

Just some pointers for the future.

1. Don't bump threads which are this old.

2. Don't create a transfer thread without atleast a semi credible source.

I sometimes do wonder how City fans think about letting him go in retrospect?
I once read a bit on bluemoon and many simply don't rate him at all and don't care that he's gone. To be fair to them, he didn't do well in his one year in England, sulked for not being given the chance to play in the middle and pushed for a move at the first possibility, so I get that they're not particularly sad about it. It didn't work out and in that case it's usually best for everyone to move on.

It's just hilarious how much money they've spend afterwards for clearly inferior centerbacks.

Yeah well that's basically what I was getting at. All the money they spend in the last seasons on CB who all aren't very convincing and they had the best CB in the world in their squad but didn't give him the playing time to develop.

Sure as you said Boateng wanted out as well but still it would kinda irk me if he would have been a United player and I would see the level he is playing at right now.

Maybe we are doing the same with Rojo......

Well we kinda did the same with Piqué and Pogba, but don't get me started on that.

Of course you can never fully predict how things will turn out with players and they wouldn't even develop as well if they had stayed and not made their moves.

I was being sarcastic with Rojo (he's awful) but the Pogba and Pique were different they were more similar to Cesc leaving Barca imho and United with Rossi. Just a case of timing with the players in front of them. I know people will point out the Park Rafael game for Pogba but in reality it was Scholes coming back (we nearly won the league because of that) and with Pogba in instead of Scholes I doubt we would have been anywhere near that season.

Gave an interview to sports magazine "Socrates" hinting he might not stay at FC Bayern forever.

Excerpts:
"i've seen it all at FC Bayern. (..) and so i'm slowly reaching a point where i'm asking myself certain questions: Which of my goals haven't i reached yet? Do i want to prove and prove myself again at the same club in the same preconditions?"
(..)"it is about challenging yourself. These are not so much career choices, but life choices. (..) it comes down to what drives you as a human being"
