Why do the Americans make programmes that might give people ideas?

I thought it looked good when I saw the original trailer, but tbf the show is boring as shit and doesnt really deal with things in a big scale its just all about Jericho. How the hell it got picked up again is beyond me, if it has another poor year it will probably be off tv for good in a month.![]()
A better question is why do Americans insist that any British actors they cast must put on flimsy yank accents? Lennie James in Jericho and whatsherface out of Hustle in the second season of Dexter are just not good at it.
You want flimsy yank accents watch that TERRIBLE new show with Eddie Izzard in it. Minnie Driver stars opposite him, but she's been out there long enough now that she can put on an American accent, but his is just appalling.
Hugh Laurie does a decent one, mind. And the girl in Dexter you mentioned isn't trying to put on an American accent, she's using her standard British one. That's what she normally sounds like, and her character is meant to be a Brit. I don't know why you thought she was trying a yank accent.
