We should buy James Beattie before some other club, hes getting better everyday, hes the Saint´s main weapon, he has them fighting close to the top and he is showing his talents to us, hes the answer to our lack of goals.
Besides hes the only one whos standing to Henry in the fight for the top goalscorer of the season, thats not easy at all

Wake up FERGIE!!!!!!!!!

every yr theres someone who looks good only to fail miserabely from then on,

ricketts, yer man at Ipswich 2 yrs ago, davies, etc,etc

didn't Sunderland pay some insane amount for Marcus Stewart (the Ipswich man) ?

No. Beattie is a good player. He is a hard worker who has been improving for a while now. However, he is not the type of player that Utd. need. We need someone who is very fast and has a fair bit of skill rather than the bulldozer sort like Beattie.

You forget kop's top flop Camel Heskey.

to be honest with ya all

i would like to see beattie at ot, anyone who can score regularly for southampton surely would be able to do so at ot

plus the guy is young and would certainly improve playing with world class players every week

Beattie is Shearer's clone with better pace and dribbling skill imo. Only a full can't see that. The lad will be a Shearer in a few years time. I would rather he became that at OT. We missed out on Shearer and I till regret it. Imagne if he had been at OT with RUUD. Therfore Fergie should make sure Beattie is put with ruud now. We can then get Cisse in the summer with Ole coovering Becks and Giggs and see how unbeliveable we would be. Thus says the chief.

To say united need to rely on a old fashioned english centre forward is an absoloute joke!! The way Sir Alex has evolved our playing style is an absoloute credit to the man. We don't sit back and hit teams on the break anymore. We still have the stomach for a scrap unlike Arsenal, and most importantly we carve through teams not batter down the door. we are a very slick outfit and can compete with the best in all departments. Beattie has niether the all round skills or class to improve on what we already have. lets keep it in perspective, we are Manchester United not some two bit scouse bin dippers or cockney barrow boys. And by the way Jeffers has a good track record with England U21 and the toffees. Ask him to play slick football though and he's like a fish out of water and an ugly one at that. Beattie for United my arse.

good onions down by the seaside there sir
:D

So Einstein what would you call Ruud. Apart from his link up play he can hardly beat anyone. but Beattie can dribble. Remember last season demolition of chelsea? What of his mattches this season against Middlesboror and Totenham twice Go watch them AGAIn aand then say Beattie isn't a good player and that at OT. He can't get better. Besides, at Southampton the play football as entertaining and enterprising as ours with even less skilled players. so claiming Beattie woulddn't fit ids hogwash. Thus says the chief.

Ruud my friend is so typically Dutch that he stinks of Edam!! Look at the way he holds up play, close control and the way he runs the channels, same mould as Van Basten and Bergcamp. Technical skill second to nobody in the world he's not a flair player he just has absolute confidence in his technique.Burley English centre forward, I don't think so chief, not with his glass ankles. And as for Southhampton playing in a style similar to United is so ludicrous that there isn't enough space. Haven't you realised yet that we are lucky enough to have the most gifted midfields in the country, and the 2 best ball players in whole of christiandom. As I recall Southhampton like most Premiership teams press and harrass teams into mistakes in which they hope to capitalise. Manchester United simpley play through teams with concise one touch, beautiful football. O.K we might be guilty of over elaberation but it's fecking Beautiful, and long may it live. Beattie go to the Scousers, I could do with a laugh!!
