Didn't see a thread on him, so thought I'd start one.

I've really enjoyed watching the kid when I have had the opportunity over the last few years. He genuinely looks like he could be a star. Would like to see him stay where he is a another season or two..unless DDG leaves and I'd genuinely take a chance on him.

Agile, genuine match winning saves, positioning is sound confident and a good head on his shoulders by the sounds. My only wonder is could he do it when he had very little to do in a game?

What does the caf think? Makes the odd mistake sure...but the majority of times I watch him he is excellent.

Yeah, I really like the lad. Seems to be progressing at a good rate too, and still only 22. Certainly one to keep an eye out over the next few years, especially with De Gea likely to leave at some point.

Should be England's number one.

Tbf to Joe Hart, he's been excellent for a while now (barring Saturday's clanger). Can certainly see Butland pushing him though, although unfortunately I think England have a manager who will pick name over form.
Butlands been brilliant this season though and I hope we are looking at him as a replacement if De Gea goes.

Stoke seemed a dodgy move for him as he'll have had a fair few clubs interested in him when he left Birmingham but he was never going to displace Begovic straight away. Good he's finally getting a chance though as he's always been a talented keeper and now he's first choice he'll only get better.

I hope you bloody don't.

Didn't he turn down Chelsea before he went to Stoke? He will be England's next keeper and I really do think IF De Gea does go, it should be a no brainer of a transfer.

Excellent keeper. England have a few excellent keepers right now with him, Hart and Forster when he returns.

I remember him playing well for the England U21's in a Euros a few years ago and then he had a dip after that, good to see him back on track and improving his game at the top level. He'd definitely be on the option list if De Gea still pisses off the Madrid.

Had the opportunity to take in the recent Arsenal vs Stoke game and Butland's quick reflexes and excellent shot-stopping saved his team from a five or six goal drubbing. It was an impressive goalkeeping performance. As an aside Stoke were completely heartless.

Jack Butland fractured his ankle.

Absolutely gutted for him. Top keeper and a genuine contender for the number one spot.

Reminds me of when that Southampton striker got injured just before the 2014 WC. Sucks for the guy :(

Jay Rodriguez? He got fecked with injuries, has practically missed two full seasons after his amazing breakout one. Just returned again and scored a hattrick against your u21s last week. Hope he can get back to how he was in 13/14.

I think he means Jay Rodriguez

Yeah sorry, that's the lad. I forgot his name :D

Fingers crossed he keeps it up.
