Sanctity, like a cat, abhors filth.
I do appreciate what Jack Bauer has done for America and the rest of the free world. I do. But his flagrant disrespect for due process will not stand. Torture is wrong, regardless of how abhorrant a suspected criminal might be.

Every time Jack conducts an investigation he is merely promoting the cause for terror my stirring up resentment and proving the world what hypocrits we are in the West.

So I for one hope that Jack Bauer goes down for a very long time - as soon as he has finished saving the world, yet again, from whatever the threat turns out to be this time round.

Whoa whoa whoa! Prompting the cause for terror by stopping terrorist attacks? Well we should just let them happen then!

Look Jack's a results guy, sure his methods can be a little extreme but when you've got 24 hours to save the world you can't wait for paperwork.

Paperwork is vital. I want to see some more evidence of the appropriate administrative functions being carried out.

Paperwork, schmakerwork!

It's people like you that let these attacks happen Simon, if that is your real name, Mr Gruber! He's out there saving lives and you're wasting time following the rules. Rules are made to be broken, like bad guy's necks.

SAVE BAUER!

It reminds me of one of the finest bits of comedy ever, from team America.

We're dicks! We're reckless, arrogant, stupid dicks. And the Film Actors Guild are pussies. And Kim Jong Il is an asshole. Pussies don't like dicks, because pussies get fecked by dicks. But dicks also feck assholes: assholes that just want to shit on everything. Pussies may think they can deal with assholes their way. But the only thing that can feck an asshole is a dick, with some balls. The problem with dicks is: they feck too much or feck when it isn't appropriate - and it takes a pussy to show them that. But sometimes, pussies can be so full of shit that they become assholes themselves... because pussies are an inch and half away from ass holes. I don't know much about this crazy, crazy world, but I do know this: If you don't let us feck this asshole, we're going to have our dicks and pussies all covered in shit!

I personally think torture is the correct proceedure in the situations Jack Bauer, and indeed the US, face in 24. What do you propose he do, sit down and have a nice chat with a hot chocolate and break the terrorist that way?

No, thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of lives are at stake, and Bauer does what he does because he thinks they justify the means. Torturing one man can save thousands, be it physical or mental torture. The latter happened in Season 2, when he faked a shooting of a terrorists family in order get the information he needed; it worked. In Season 5 when he threatens to take Walt Cummings' eye out, again to get the information he needed; it worked.

Granted, ticking-time bomb scenarios are unlikely, if ever, to occur in the real world, but if they did, I'm sure torture would go on behind the scenes.

Jack should be honoured for what he has done, not prosecuted. Terrorists deserve no civil liberties.

"Don't expect me to regret the decisions I have made, because sir the truth is, I don't." - Jack Bauer

love him ;)

Jack Bauer should be president. I fecking love his "take no shit" brutal attitude.

Any how if these crazy sons of bitches were not trying to kill everybody Jack wouldn't need to torture would he? The end justifies the means.

This only works in fiction. In reality, it is very rare that you have a single person pin pointed for certain information. It is far more probable that you have multiple persons suspected of having crucial information. Meaning you end up torturing loads of innocent people and probably killing some in the process.

You guys do realize that real life is not like 24 right?

edit: crappy beat me to it

The interesting thing about USA is that Hollywood always rides to the rescue.

1......they had an incompetent idiot in the White House......so they put President Bartlett in the White House so they could feel better about themselves.

2....not making any strides in the War on "Terror", Hollywood created Jack Bauer so Americans would think they were winning.

Bread and circuses?

Pretty sure West Wing was on during the Clinton years. Never watched that overrated shite anyway.

24 was conceived before 9/11, I think. They actually delayed the start because of the attacks.

You do know that "Hollywood" is a bunch of gay liberal Jews who supposedly hate America and steal horrible game shows from Britain, right? A country is not one big hive-mind.

Bauer is doin' it.

He won't ever go down.

Legend!

For all 24 fans, watch this video till the end...and tell me this isn't impressive...

That is feckin' amazing.

I didn't realise it was a picture before I pressed play. Brilliant. Wish I could do things like that
