I genuinely believe the following to be true
A) Man Utds squad this season, even after the purchase of Kagawa, and assuming you fail to get RVP is the weakest for some years. Evidence of that frailty was seen last year in what was generally regarded as a lower quality premiership not only by finishing second and some lack lustre displays but more importantly by failing to qualify out of a particularly weak CL group. Your midfield, in particular, lacks quality and I don't see ageing stars (Giggs and Scholes) being the solution. In fact, I think time will finally catch up with them. It's not RVP you need but another quality midfielder.
B) Arsenal have strengthened significantly and I confidently predict that Cazorla will be the purchase of the season. If we keep RVP, I expect us to be a greater threat to City than you lot. That is why I argue if trophies are the prime goal of RVP, he's better of staying than going to Utd. If he does go, it's
because of the money rumoured at an extra £70k per week and at 29 who can blame him in what is his final big money contract?
C) There is and has been cool relations at Board level between Man Utd and Arsenal. If RVP is to sign this summer for Utd, then they will have to pay through the nose. I'd guess £20m would do it for Juventus but nothing less than £25 will do it for Utd. Arsenal are now in a strong financial position and can afford to reject Utds rumoured offer of £15m. That is why I think we will string you along and force RVP to play out the last year of his contract. Frankly, that's what most fans want anyway. I also think Wenger is adamant
he won't sell to Fergie.
D) Unlike the Nasri situation last year, Arsenal are in a much stronger position with RVP. He has been injury prone, he is 29 and when he realises that Arsenal are not going to sell him, he either has to risk still being an attractive proposition next year when he's 30, or do a KP like turnaround, committing his future to Arsenal and taking the improved contract on offer.[/SPOILER]
Now for having the temerity to voice those views in the Transfer forum, the trigger happy Censors posing as mods last night decided to re-interpret those sincerely held views as Wumming which actually means insofar as i am concerned nothing more than a knee-jerk response to a contrary view that doesn't accord to those of the manc herd. Frankly, the vitriol and bile directed my way is really down to their fear that my analysis could be right.
Now, it may turn out that my analysis is not right but so what? It seems a valid argument from where we are now sitting.
Ridiculous! This forum is meant to serve debate which means posting and arguing different views. Those mods should be ashamed of themselves. I ask they reflect on the wrongness of their actions and so reinstate me to the relevant forums.
So mods,do the right thing. You may not agree withmyviews but that's no reason to behave as you have done.
