A nude study of Mr Pigeon

Another RedCafe icon has been honoured by a statue with a plastic sculpture of the Scottish great Mr Pigeon, although the dubious likeness to the 1986 Mr Universe winner has attracted online ridicule, especially from me.

The 120-foot statue features the 1986 Eurovision winner with a healthy head of hair and holding aloft the trophy he helped Scotland win at McButlins, but bears little resemblance to the then 25-year-old leader of the band.

Some online commenters said the statue looked more like Hollywood star Walter Pidgeon, Big Bird from documentary series 'Being: Liverpool' or "someone's pigeon".

The man bird himself said that he felt honoured but dubious: "This must be the first time that somebody's relatives have ever pooped on them...except for the Kardashian sisters, of course."
