Israel - Palestine Discussion | Post Respectfully | Discuss more, tweet less

Yep and anyone here still defending any of these entities behind what's happening isn't worth the time.

Certain posters have been convinced that UNRWA allegations are real. As in "Yes, Israel has lied about literally everything, but this time it is real for sure". Sounded much like they were hoping it was real, when it turns out now there is almost no proof about anything.

Anyone believeing anything coming from the Israeli side without it being waterproof, after all the shite they have come up with, is at this point either extremely biased, or downright cheering for genocide and ethnic cleansing.

So if UNWRA is defunded, and UNHCR deals with all refugees except Palestine, the UN now has the money to deal with all refugees except for one specific region.

And since UNWRA was set up by the General Assembly, can't the General Assembly change the remit of UNHCR, or reallocate funding? In other words, that's not a decision that can be vetoed?

Some domestic news:

https://www.theguardian.com/educati...on-due-to-anti-zionist-beliefs-tribunal-rules

A sociology professor sacked by the University of Bristol after being accused of antisemitic comments has won a “landmark” decision that he was discriminated against because of his anti-Zionist beliefs.

An employment tribunal ruled that Prof David Miller was unfairly dismissed, and that his “anti-Zionist beliefs qualified as a philosophical belief and as a protected characteristic pursuant to section 10 Equality Act 2010”.

UNWRA has a 13,000 strong workforce on the ground in Gaza. I doubt such a workforce with such expertise can be replaced in the near or even medium term; especially given the fact there's a full scale war and the perilous nature of the roles. 150 UNWRA employees are already dead. Whatever agency receives the remit will have to use locals to operate. It would have the exact same exposure to the issues UNWRA is currently accused of.

Suspension of funding now, when the services of UNWRA have never been more keenly needed, is absolutely guaranteed to have a drastic impact on Gazan civilians. Many many people will die that otherwise would have lived.

This is the long and the short of it really. The defunders are taking part in the slaughter now.

Channel 4, after reviewing Israel’s dossier against UNRWA says it "provides no evidence to support its claim that UNRWA staff were involved in [Oct 7th]".

Oh, absolutely brilliant move: Slash the lifeline of an entire community based on some juicy gossip from the folks who, let's just say, aren't exactly their biggest fans. Because, obviously, when the International Court of Justice hints at genocide, the logical response is to cut off aid from a UN agency. Makes perfect sense, right?

Uhhh 88 is a problematic number maybe? Ever considered that before having a child in proximity to the only democracy in the middle east???

This was always likely to be the case.

The message should be "you have killed 30k people and have done no significant effect on Hamas that keep itself active in Gaza despite the total destruction of the whole city and the deplacement of 2m people and we are covering up your fecking mess, are stupid?"

I'd say its alive but frozen until the Israelis eliminate Hamas. The Saudis wanted certain provisions about the future of Palestinians, which the Israelis would never agree to while Hamas was still in existence.
The Saudis will no doubt care more about their own brand and staying in the good graces of the US than putting a lot of political capital into the Palestinian issue.

Looks like the Saudis cared about their image after all that they do not want to be associated with the terrorist government like Israel's

"[We've] communicated [our] firm position to the US administration that there will be no diplomatic relations with Israel unless an independent Palestinian state is recognized on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital."

31 hostages have been killed over the last few months due to the bombardment and the IOF murdering rampage.

Don't see the genocidal regime agreeing to a ceasefire when they could bomb the rest of them during the rest of the year. Maybe the US could make themselves useful for once in this genocide apart from being an active participant in it.

Who here said that cutting the funding was a mob-like retaliation for the ICJ ruling?

That was spot on, it was a fully planned hit coordinated by all the ruling mobs of the Western countries who are funding the genocide.

31 hostages have been killed over the last few months due to Hamas terrorists kidnapping them from their homes in Israel and taking them to Gaza.

Fixed it for you.

Yes, no other explanation, ICJ and UNRWA and parts from the body of UN. They want to destabilize and de-legitimize the internation community and law. Like its not enough than they already control it via the security council.

Begs the question of how long the management at Shifa hospital and NGOs like the Red Cross and UNWRA have known about Hamas operating in the hospital. Contrary to what they have been saying the whole time

@gfactor86

Bro, Where is the command center under Al-shifa Hospital? we asked you 2 months ago. I hope you had time to gather information to answer our question.
