I'm not gutted at all, it was always obvious that you were going to get a new CB......so I'd more than settle for Rio for such a huge fee...I don't think he'll simply sort out all your defensive frailties, tho he will certainly improve matters..

Duff would be a good buy for us, but I agree that 20m is too much...I'd take him for 15m tho

They won't get duff and neither will we. We both can't afford 20mil. Expect either Gudjohnssen or Rivaldo to be the forward we sign. And Bridge or Sorin at left back possibly

No, I don't think it is.

Beckham's strong point isn't his intellect (he's from London) but at least he's more intelligent than any scouser (as well as being a better footballer). So I doubt whether he'll make the same mistake twice in a row that so many bindippers have been making ten or more times in a row, believing that next season will fulfil an unrealistic dream they had at the start of last season.

Those were not his exact words but it was in a similar context, plus we still had stam then. After he was sold, it was always gonna be difficult.
