Is there still a rule against duplicate threads?

Don't mean to be a grass on fellow posters, but I'm sick of spending time writing out quality posts only to have them made redundant by some twit who can't be arsed to have a look to see if there's already a thread.

I'm sure you mods and admins have better things to do that merge threads and such, but the rule has seem to be laxed lately and the old code of posting a link to first thread and then everyone going and posting in the correct thread seem to no longer exist, with everyone just posting in the newer thread, ingoring the links. Personally if I accidently post a duplicate and someone posts a link to an existing thread, I delete my thread out of common courtesy. I don't just reply "My bad" and then go on discussing the thread like nothing happened.

Here's two examples of duplicate threads on the forum at the moment.

Drogshite wanting to punch Vidic:

Mourinho wanting to come back to the Premier League

If these could be merged then great. If not, then whatever, I'll just repeat myself to the simpletons who can't be arsed following a simple link.

Either way cue photos of pigeons and such.

Obviously, not although those who write them should be smacked, or the mods could just merge them if they felt like it

There is no rule change. If (or rather when) this happens use the report post thing and put dupe thread as a reason so that we all get notified*

* except Noodle who doesn't read his email.
