Is there a bigger idiot in football than Tony Cascarino?

The former Chelsea and Aston Villa striker Tony Cascarino hopes Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney gets injured more often over the coming season in order to keep him fresh for next summer’s World Cup finals. The ex-Republic of Ireland forward believes Rooney’s high-temp, all-action style will mean he could well be burnt out come the end of a gruelling Premier League season.

Cascarino told the Times: “I hope Wayne Rooney gets injured a few more times before next summer, after the calf problem that ruled the forward out of Wednesday’s game.”

“Nothing personal, it’s just that he plays at such a high intensity that he’s risking burnout before the World Cup.”

“A niggle that gives him a couple of weeks off could be beneficial.
Any time he opens his mouth he just spews shite.

When you see his name in the headline you're pretty much guaranteed a ridiculous article.

Tool

Beneficial to the Rentboys he means. He couldn't give a stuff about England

The word bellend is too mild a term when looking for an insult worthy of this complete tit of a pundit. Rooney's been constantly injured for ages, every season it's the same... he always loses form as a result of it and takes ages to get back into a groove.

Arsehole.

I suppose we should value his opinion considering the long list of honours he retired with....

Oh, wait

Anyone ever meet him? I have, twice.

fecking wearout cnut. Thinks hes a racing expert aswell. Watched him drop a few hundred on a tip he had from a " source". I smiled as my 20/1 got me my each way money.

Doesnt strike me a happy person, something eating away at him, very bitter for some reason.

My first reaction was Stan Collymore. Wasn't surprised to see it being that idiot though.

Thing is, he sort of had a point with the whole Rooney getting burnt out thing. However, as is customary with him, he had to make himself look a massive spastic by wishing injury on him...

If nothing else, how many times has Rooney come back from injury and immediately set the world alight? How many times has injury triggered a poor run of form for him?

Proper idiot, really.

Swapped for a new kit as a player......about his value I'd say!!

The worst thing that could happen to Rooney's World Cup form is him being injured regularly through the season. He's always at his best when he's had a run of games without injuries. Also, if he's getting niggling injuries here and there through the season isn't there a risk he'll also get injured in the World Cup?

Cas was on the radio earlier talking about tonights matchs.... when asked about Drogbas contribution for Chelsea he said he had cost them 2 champions league finals 'particularly the one against Man Utd'

:wenger:

I doubt he even watches football.

Cascarino is brilliant. He argues in today's Times that "Rooney is a liability and must be dropped". Really.

He has to be the worst pundit of all time.

The shit he sprouts on about is so confusing because it makes no sense at all.

Very punchable face aswell

To answer the OP's question.

Yes Tommy "stick it in the old onion bag" "that's Smyth with a y" Smyth. How many catchphrases does that fecker need?
