Not technically for i doubt there are many [if any] other countries with a channel for each sport.

However the reactionary reporting concerning a lack of a gold after only a few days, i don't think it does their trade, the fans, or the athletes any good at all.

The Sun up there at the front of the pack in its naturally dubious style. And given just one gold they'll be showing how shallow they are.

It certainly is. According to BBC news, even News 24, there is virtually nothing else happening either in this country or the world at large. All BBC's news programmes should be renamed 'olympic news'.

We were saying that we don't think the TV coverage is that good, in that they aren't giving enough information during the events about times, positions of athletes etc.

It has got a bit silly in that we're now celebrating a 6th place finish in the swimming. It's a miserable fail, really!

The interview after that Kazakhstan lad one the road race was terrible. Saying "not the result that we wanted". Bitch.

That was also funny because Cavendish lost his temper - the interviewer asked him if their Tour de France efforts had affected Team GB's cyclists in the Olympic road race, and he said 'no of course not, you don't know anything about cycling'. Well, it was a valid question as the TV audience of non-cyclists might well have thought the same thing.

The BEEB have said that it is out of their control, either a LOCOG or IOC thing.

I didn't hear that although i reckon you could get away with such a comment [perhaps] if said in jest or humour. A French canoeist was bantering with the interviewer earlier so i hear.

tbf Cavandish was kind of justified to be angry, but they all knew other teams wouldn't be out to help them, but the worst scenario happened. It's a shame he's going to come out of this boom without a medal at all, I mean even Froome will probably win a medal in the Time Trial, and he's been around really for like 18 months.

From what I understand, TV crews are employed on a 'freelance' basis by IOC/LOCOG (so some BBC crews will be amongst that number as well as others from all round the world) and each crew provides a feed which everyone gets to see. The BBC will have their own crews for the studios and for interviewers (e.g. Sharron Davies at the pool). Basically there is no way one individual broadcaster could provide enough crews for all the broadcasts required.

I dunno they should name it Olympic news and Syria- only two stories apparently. Either the eurozone stuff has slipped from the headlines.

In a bit of a segue, i can't imagine the BBC producing such a sexist SPOTY shorrlist this year. If they though the controversy in 2011 was something...

little bit embarrassing watching the men's 8 rowing after they won the bronze and John Inverdale said "so you didn't achieve the dream"

don't congratulate them or anything, just make them feel worse...they are knackered and were up against Germany and Canada ffs
