Is John Carew Good For Us?

I've seen him played for Valencia a few seasons ago and he ever helped them win the Spanish Liga as well as runners-up in the CL. Now, he has helped Valencia to reach the Quarter-finals by scoring two goals against Arsenal last nite. He's another Norwegian striker besides our Ole and find his performance down the years as impressive, well thought he could be an asset to our forward as we're in need to get someone to partner RVN esp. for the next season. Is he good for us? Any comments/thoughts? :)

I got a feeling that he is gonna be another donkey

In thoery Carew should be a great striker, catch is, he isnt. I dont think he would set the nation on fire or anything, could turn into a bit of an Emile.

I suggest we put the necessary wheel in motion to bid for every player who scores a goal.

We discussed Carew a year or so again and I think the concensus then was that he is too inconsistent.

And Stephanov?

He is such a genuine piece of shit <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

you mean "fall in the box".

I wouldn't mind carew as a squad member though, go in the air and holds the ball up well even though he is not that fast, but right now we need a fast striker.

Actually, he is very quick, but usually his role is to hold up the ball a lot in Valencia.
However, he is their top scorer this season, with 8 league goals, plus crucial national side goal ag Denmark, also 5 goals in Champions League this season - more than Shevsjenko, Del Piero, Owen, Marco Di Vaio, 2 more than Solskjær, same number of goals as Ibrahimovic, Kluivert, Sonny Anderson, aso.

Ruben Baraja wasn't even to be found on Spains top scorer list and has 3 goals this season in CL, so reg the fox in the box I don't think we need more foxes than we already have in Scholes and OGS.

Carew is absolutely unstoppable on his day, and would look good in PL, because the refs don't blow that much. He consistantly holds up 2-3 defenders and can create absolute panic.
Scores goals on all levels, bags of routine already : has played CL final, semis, quarter finals, aso, young, will only get better, struck back after a somewhat disapponting season last year.
Also excellent conduct off the pitch, never heard anything but good things about the player.

Valencia also need money these days.

Jeffers is a cnut

yeah he is good for. will do wel to scoop aimar too. <img src="graemlins/yawn.gif" border="0" alt="[Yawn]" />
