I was flipping channels and chanced upon a Serie A game. The crowd was so sparse that I thought it must have been a match between 2 bottom clubs. I was shocked when the game was between Juve and Roma/Lazio?
Why any player would want to leave England to play in Italy in such circumstances is beyond me.
Money can't be that impostant can it?
Spain on the other hand, is a different proposition altogether.
Then there's this article on BBC
(Worried Inter slash prices)
Inter Milan have slashed ticket prices for the Uefa Cup tie against Ipswich Town.
The Italian giants are worried that Ipswich's 8,000-strong travelling support will make the third round, second leg seem like an away tie.
Inter supporters' imaginations have not been captured by the Uefa Cup this season.
The daily Corriere dello Sport reported that by Tuesday afternoon, Inter had sold just 8,000 tickets to home fans, raising the prospect of a 50-50 split in the cavernous 82,500 capacity San Siro stadium.
The Ipswich contingent will be the biggest away following seen at the San Siro this season, including Serie A games.
The online ticket section of Inter's official website has launched an appeal to encourage fans to turn up.
It has become fundamental to advance in the Uefa Cup
Inter's Javier Zanetti
Its slogan is: "There are 8,000 of them arriving, but there will be more of us - make your voice heard".
But so far the appeal appears to have had little impact on fans of the current Serie A leaders.
Prices for the second tier of the San Siro have been set at a discount 22,000 lire (£9) with other seat prices reduced.
