ETH hasn’t put a foot wrong since he came to OT and showing signs of taking us right back to the top. His substitutions once again pivot in us turning things round. Last time I was this excited SAF was in charge.

Early days I know but Christ he’s certainly put the smile back on our faces. Long May it continue. :)

It's been less than a year... let's not get carried away.

(and he's probably not going to stay 26 years, no matter what)

Love the guy so far...
But kindly feck off comparing him to the boss already.

No, he's the first Eric ten feckin hag and he's a red.

Most impressive thing = he changed things at half time.

Something he needs to learn. The subs “to see out the game” only invite more pressure. After McTominnay came on we were under more pressure in the remaining 7 minutes then throughout the whole second half before

Yeah never mind Sir Alex's 49 trophies. Winning Europa League or Carabao is like scratching his toe and we've won nothing (so far). Let's stop there.

On a serious note yeah he's the best man we have had since the main man himself and yeah it is possible he could even do better than him. Time is on his side considering how fast he has turned us around compared to Sir Alex.

Slow down, he hasn't won anything yet.

But I'm confident he will :smirk:

Yes.

And Martinez and Varane are the next Rio and Vidic, Garnacho's the next Goggs, De Gea is better than Schmeichel, Antony the next Rivaldo, Splinter the new Cantona, AWB is Cafu reborn, Sabitzer the next Modric, and Fred is the spitting image of Lothar Matthäus.

My god, no he isnt and i doubt anyone ever will be! ETH has been brilliant so far but it threads like this that are just asking for trouble. let's just let him get on with what he is doing without going overboard shall we?

There will never be another SAF. You don't get managers who give you over two decades of consistent success and a trophy haul that dwarves 95% of the other teams put together.

Ten Hag is definitely shaping up to be our best manager since the great man retired. If/when he wins a trophy this season he will have cemented that. For now I'm just feckin grateful to enjoy watching United again.

If we give him the right infrastructure and more critically organization structure, he will be and establish his own legacy.

ETH definitely has the hallmarks of creating his own legacy. We can only hope that it rivals PART of SAF's

He’s the first manager post fergie to come in and have that aura and I think Fergie knows it as well !
He’s not phased by the job, he just gets on with it

Kind of feels a little like the 05/06 season where I think we had a decent push on Chelsea, and picked up the League Cup.

No, and it’ll be the same answer every time this question is asked. If ETH is here for a decade and wins let’s say 4 leagues and a CL, we’ll be absolutely delighted. Nobody will ever replicate what SAF did.

In a literal sense, quite obviously no. Achievement, longevity, coaching style due to the difference in era - very hard to even compare or comprehend that this manager could even approach something comparable. Those are the things that make Fergie Fergie.

But in terms of personality traits and qualities, there are of course parallels. That's to do with being an elite leader. Intensity, authority, decision making, an ability to manage people. There are things you can certainly compare and get optimistic about ETH.

Once he wins 4 European trophies across 3 decades with 2 different clubs then yes :D

And a few Premier Leagues …

But so far he has done a brilliant job. Does his talking on the pitch instead of in press conferences. And he is result-oriented, will change things and adapt if his approach isn’t working in order to get the win.

He's only won one more game that David Moyes did as manager.

No. But he's the only man to imbrace the pressure and he thrives on it. He will lift the weight off fergies shoulders and future managers won't be compared to fergie. He's a genius in my eyes.

Don't do this. We don't need threads or even itty bitty posts comparing for or begging for comparisons between Erik ten Hag and Sir Alex Ferguson.
