I thought Giggs was always stand-in Captain. I for one think the captains armband should be worn by someone different.

Time will tell.

Given he got the armband in front of Giggs then I'd say yes he is. The real question is "should he keep it" when Roy comes back?

I love Keano's passion for the game & for United but his unpredictable behaviour (on & off the field) is IMO not appropriate for his role as captain.

An admission of "intent to injure" in his book and yet another clear example of petty retaliation against "Macafear" is, I think, unacceptable.

Add to that his earlier admission that he was "ready to quit United" until AF changed his mind suggests to me he's ready to step down.

Becks on the other hand, is a tireless worker, equally passionate and his experience with armband for England bodes well for his eventual captaincy for his beloved club United.

For my money, the sooner the better!

big bouncing bollocks. Roy is the Captain.
anyway how can you be from all 3 places Calgary, Alberta, AND Canada ?

Theres only one Utd! true! :D <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" />

Technically, Alberta is a provence in Canada. Though, I'm not quite sure what make a province different from a state? I know that US states have their own crimminal law, while all Canadian provinces are under the same Canadian crimminal law.

I don't see what's so bad about Beckham being the captain. Though when Keane returns I expect the captain armband to be returned to him.

I am glad to see Giggs has been demoted from the stand-in captaincy. Hopefully it will be the kind of kick up the backside he needs.

Giggs doesn't give a toss about the captaincy, there lies the problem folks. Giggs is in the comfort zone He's got nothing to prove,(can't you tell based on recent performances) He's got his medals,he'll never get dropped(nobody to replace him or even challange him)got his Rolex's loads of cars a big fancy mansion.
You see Giggs is cruisin' He's got his! more than he could ever dreamed he would have in a million years, Thats why you never see him playing with any hunger and determination. So don't kid yourself that Giggs gives a shit about the captaincy

 <img src="graemlins/nono.gif" border="0" alt="[No No]" />

Beckham led England to the world cup (in some instances, almost single-handedly). I think he has proved he has matured and can lead a team, and I hope he does so in Keane's absence. That said, when Keane returns, I think his role as captain is unquestioned.

Calgary is the city, Alberta is the Province (with an "i" not an e) & Canada is the Country.
And just for the record, young Owen Hargreaves was born & raised here and I play against his dad (Colin, ex Notlob Wanderers I believe) in the O-45A league here on a regular basis. (Still agreat player btw)

Each province is governed by an elected political party (Tories, Liberals etc.) headed by a premier. They're independant of the national political parties but share similar philosphical traits with their Federal counterparts. Certain laws pertain only to the Provinces while others are national. That's more than anyone really needs to know but WTF, somebody asked.

I know Roy will come back and lead United and hopefully he will have more success than ever before. I also hope he learns that a good leader is more valuable when he plays every game than when he misses 6 to 10 games every year. It drives me crazy to see him healthy but not playing! :(

Does anybody know how many games he's missed each season since being a player / our captain due to suspension? (numbers percentages etc. come on you raincoats give us an answer)

Here's a thought, you have a player who has captained his team to the World cup. why not use Larry White?

Also does he still kiss the goalie?

SPOT ON AS MUCH AS I ADMIRE GIGGSY HE IS NOT IN THE SAME MOULD AS KEANO BECKHAM AND HEYY EVEN GARY NEVILLE. WE WANT CAPTAINS TO SWEAT BLOOD FOR UNITED......IS IT JUST ME OR IS GIGGSY GETTING MORE LAZY AS TIME GOES BY? NOT A CRITISISM JUST A THOUGHT.
