Ireland v England

I'm backing Ireland for this one.

They win by 2 wickets if they bat second,else by about 30 runs.
 
I'm thinking about putting $10 on Ireland, but hesitating on the grounds that I'll almost certainly lose it.
 
England might win this .. they have a good chance ..

I'd say 8 wickets or 150+runs :)
 
I didn't give us a chance against Pakistan... and I still don't think we've got a chance against England.

Run rate of 4.87 after 15 overs

Its O.K nothing special considering England should easily beat Ireland, and its inside the powerplay

However, Ireland have been playing very well, and England often don't take full advantage of the powerplays

This pitch is all over the place. If Ireland can somehow remove Pietersen they might be in with a slight chance. Especially if the pitch flattens out later.

Have to agree -- being Irish -- this is the best World Cup of all!!!:lol:
 
England, largely down to Collingwood managed to hit 267, which is excellent considering how much trouble they could have been in. Once again Collingwood had to save England. 94 off of the last 10 overs is pretty good, although the Irish bowling went pair shaped after Rankin got injured.
Can't see Ireland matching the total, but hoping for them to at least put up a fight

Agreed -- Collingwood was great -- all will depend on the first few overs if the Irish can stay and the English get frustrated....
 
Great knock from collingwood,and good stuff from k.p and fred.Once again our top order provide no basis to get the really big scores and seeing as we provide most of our scoring in the middle to last overs from our middle order i'd push k.p upto 3 and drop bell to 5 were he can be more effective when the fields back to rotate the scoring or drop him all together,quality test player with a good defence but not suited to one dayers me thinks.
